Nice post above - question. Your sims on withdrawal of funds has to be based on some arbritary fugure, which I trust provides for a decent standard of living. What are your factors for increasing or decreasing that number. Do you have a formula for skill miming excess funds?

The sims are strictly table play. I know what kind of downswings to expect. I know my monthly nut. I know the investment and spouse's income. I have to come up with the difference. I just figured a bad month or 2 and expenses and where that leaves me. I don't want to be close to drawdown. This no other job income is new to me. I was very nervous about not understanding things so I gave a lot of room for error. I am by no means an expert on this. Ask me in a few years. I just know if you aren't cautious spending too much of your profits will hurt you when you hit a bad patch.

Since so much of your BR lies idle and will hopefully never be touched what it does while at rest is a big factor in your BR growth. I recently met with a financial advisor and explained what I do.and what my goals are. He explained keeping my money in a tax free state bond fund that is federal, state and local tax free is a strong position despite the lower income. Definitely when you consider the tax free part is like getting 50%+ more return on the investment and no fees for buying or selling. It is like a bank account that pays about 6% interest once the tax free part is factored in. Not a bad place to park the idle part of your BR until it is needed. At least a good portion of it. The part you are quite sure you will never need can be invested in a higher return long term position. Just like for us time gets you to that long term average.

Zee is our village idiot, and we like him. I respect his ability to ask questions to things he should perhaps already know. That takes more balls than I usually have. He often asks questions that I never thought about which has helped me understand things better.

The closest I get to rub and tug sort of stuff is taking pics with the chipndales on Fremont, lol.

Very good analogy. Makes sense. Perhaps I should not schedule a long extended session when I have another day left on the trip as back to back games are tough. Conserving and maintaining energy for the next game, huh.

So, to a simpleton, is a 6Deck game, H17, $25 min., no S otherwise standard rules as found in many casinos in the Midwest with a penn of 75% a good game with a 1-10 spread? Under what conditions is this a playable game? Larger spread or number of players or say, a deeper penn with 5 decks cut off or wonging out at TC-2 or what? Or is it simply a bad game?

No. You can't say the smarter one.
    Can I answer yet

So, the win or loss happens in 25 years. If you're referring to Zee, he's likely dead. I'll likely be dead, so I can't collect. However, if everyone is alive, then we have an interesting puzzle.

If the guy who us simming blackjack was reading and simming chess, a game that requires no distraction, concentration and discipline, the reader is the clear winner. Now, blackjack and s a game if seasoning and distraction. Our chump has the initial advantage, since he is, at least, familiar with casino hustle bustle. However, in theory, our reader will get seasoned and will clearly beat the chump after 5 years.

Would I bet 10k? I don't think so. I have no clear demonstrable way of evaluating the reader. He might read and sim, but could easily be clueless and incompetent. 10k would represent a high a risk of bankroll on an unknown, but educated reader.

I could go on, but to get to the answer your oooking for, you'll need to change the Question?

The 2nd part is basically a summation of actual experience vs study and practice. I'm not sure there is a correct answer. Just your valued opinion.

Long term experience is not an indicator of ability. I've known several experienced incompetents over the years. The educated guy is the winner - in theory.

Somewhat strange thing happen here this site nowadays. I wanted to ask Norm, but didn't (not to bother him).
Number of new posts (not new threads) dropped. Wondered "new moderator (such as Don S)" inaugurated.
But, a few posters keep biting, chewing one guy, bullying (I might be wrong, though) him.
Just a few productive posts recently (by Don S).

Would you trade a few light jokes without any mean intent directed at you, for good advice from a few players, that could possibly prevent you from either having to downsize your level of play or possibly going bankrupt?
