Has anybody played in Atlantic City lately?

I was playing in a Pennsylvania Casino today and one of the players was talking about the surrendering rule that all Pennsylvania Casino offers. Then one of the player said he was playing in Borgata Casino in Atlantic City three days ago and they offer late surrendering there also. I haven't played at Atlantic City for quite a while.

I know that Golden Nugget offers late surrendering in the high limit pit on their six deck Blackjack games. But I am not aware of Borgata offering the late surrendering rule.

I was just there in A.C. (this week).

The Golden Nugget High Limit room offers Late Surrender,

but only upon request, and a waiting period (of one shoe).

Those tables have $50 and $100 minimums.

As the rule is not posted or advertised, they are anxious

about anyone audacious enough to request late surrender.

They will "skill-check" you, and immediately "half-shoe" you,

if they rate you as a skilled player.

Note: The Borgata employs full-time "Counter Catchers."

I don't know about full time counter catchers in Borgata but I know that some dealers does stay alert about counters. I seem a lady dealer there that know the prefect basic strategy for the 8 deck S17 DAS blackjack game. I try to test her and ask what if the rules get change to hit soft 17 is the basic strategy still the same as the basic strategy for stand soft 17. So told me it doesn't matter if it is stand soft 17 or hit soft 17 the basic strategy is still the same. Which was wrong. But she was suspecting card counters and reporting it to the pit crew.

Probably because Golden Nugget got their a$$ kick with the late surrendering rule that is why they are so concern about offering surrender.

Table Game revenue at the Golden Nugget has been rather good.
The addition of Late Surrender hasn't resulted in an "ass-kicking."
They are fully aware that they are using Late Surrender (by request)
as it results in amateur Card Counters "outing" (revealing) themselves.

I played at Nugget this yr and was up over 8k there in 2 short sessions. When I first sat down there was no issue with surrender. Came back the next morning early and got it again. When I went back on the next shift they said they would consider LS but never gave it to me. PB whispered into dealers ear and next shoe was cut 2-3 decks. Made the game unplayable and I left. Didn't take long to be figured out. Back off by making game unplayable. It is otherwise a great high limit room. I will be back next month. Will play unrated and NOT ask for surrender.

Why go through the trouble playing at Atlantic City if they refuse to offer surrender with good table conditions? Instead you can just travel to play in Pennsylvania which is only two hours away.

Closest casino in Pa is about 40 minutes away and quite a few within an hours drive.

I guess it depo depends on how fast you drive. Google maps has it at 61 miles. I guess its more like 50 minutes. It is not far and all the road is highway except a mile. 65 MPH speed limit most of the way so going 75 is reasonable.

GL with that. GN restricts unrated players to 1 hand and a max of a measly $100. Borgata restricts unrated players to 10x table minimum, played there once lost a few thousand and my comps were frozen upon return lol. AC is a pathetic sweatbox offering somewhere between crap and mediocre games with extreme hostility and rudeness from staff, the latter maybe just an east coast thing idk.

That is why AC's revenue is going down. They think that their being smart restricting players but didn't take into consideration that it would have a big impact on their business.
