    Worst Casino (In Your Opinion)

I spent last week playing in several MidWestern states.

Most of the casinos are small but reasonably friendly.

When my partner and I found ourselves driving past

St Joseph, MO there was a casino that we had never played at.

It was "TERRIBLES" I am told, but now is "St. Jo's FRONTIER"

It was Noon when we stopped in. The table games were CLOSED.

NO BJ until after 1:00 p.m. but we saw that large bright signs were

displayed on the BJ Tables declaring that SURRENDER was in effect.

We left and continued our quest. Nearing midnight, we returned.

The BJ games were pathetic. They kept only a half stack of blacks on

the tables. Dealers were slow and unskilled. But get a load of this:

If you buy-in with a 'benjamin' they first hold the bill up to a light

and then they employ the special pen that we have all seen. Why do

I mention this ? They performed the same ritual on EVERY bill, no

matter the denomination. I was 'laughing out loud' when I saw them

closely examining $5 and $1 bills. Dealers and pit critters alike were

rude, hostile, and generally unpleasant and unwelcoming.

The patrons BJ skill level was the worst we have ever seen. There was a

small gang of young locals who insisted that we would double ANY soft hand

and did so. Ain't nothin' like doubling Ace-2 or Ace-9 against a dealer high card.

Splitting was also a bizarre olympic sport at these tables.

They even have a "tub" for a Craps Table that they use at night.

For the uninitiated, that is a tiny 6 foot table with stools for the

players and ONE person acting as the dealer, the stick, and the box.

At 1:45 a.m. they announced that you MUST leave the tables and

cash out because they "lock the doors" at 2:00 a.m.

    They did. L.O.L.

Sounds like they have a few interesting opportunities over there. What are the table limits?

lol. Stopped through there twice I think, don't know what was wrong with me the second time. I'd nominate Amelia belle in southern Louisiana. You drive through a trailer park to get to the casino parking lot, to paint the picture. Pile of Debris Lula and Kansas City are honorable mention.

Isle of Capri caruthersville and Majestic Star Gary are probably the two dumpiest River boats Ive seen. Bighorn or any of the various a North Las Vegas properties, difficult to pick one. Whatever they call that casino in Beatty, Nevada. Good topic.

Gosh, I so agree. I tried them on way home leaving Tunica a couple of times. First, the decor dates back to early 50's gauche and then, there is NO one at the place it seems. To think that this place USED to be rockin' I was told..........LOL Won a couple hun both times and left quickly!

I let a tweaker borrow my lighter in the parking lot at the Isle of Capri in KCMO. That was probably the scariest casino I've ever been in. I suppose I've been spared.

St. Jo's Frontier didn't seem bad, from what I remember. Seemed like the kinda place where if you aren't wearing overalls with a missing tooth or two and a piece of straw(?) hanging from your mouth and chaw in your cheek, you'd stick out easily.

    Flash
My kid brother used to own manage a grunge bar in Seattle. My wife and I visited there one night - BOY, did we ever stand out.

Some of the ambience included included ripped off doors from toilet stalls (to help curb drug dealing) ear splitting deafni g heavy metal that was supposedly called music, as well a reserved parking spot for the cops. Not my cup though of tea. I mention this, as the level of low class, albeit different seems about equitable. I prefer to avoid such locations.

Your location mind you, should include a transplant from a decrepit Vegas store that I visited. This particular patron, smoking, hacking up blood which dribbled from his mouth, objecting to my request for him to move tables, eventually took my advice to play at a glorious 6:5 endeavour.

This allowed me to okay with a drunk humorous degenerate with a Spanish accent. He had been threatened by the critter with eviction from premise due to his intoxicated condition. I assisted my new found friend with longevity, as I ordered from the waitress - dos cafe pour fa vour, no cervesa - articulated in my best Spanish accent. The critter decided he liked me and took no action with this, actually, pretty darn good DD game with high spread.

Casino White Cloud (Near the NE/KS/MO border) is up near St. Joe Frontier's level --- table games closed the majority of the time, dealers and patrons that act like they've never been there before, awkward stares galore. If you fit in at St. Joe's, you still? might stick out here! Safety level -- better than the Isle of Capri spots in KCMO & IA, but at least those have playable games.

Isle of Carpri Lula and Caruthersville. In Caruthersville, you walk uphill 1/2 mile to a ramp so you can walk downhill 1/2 mile to wind up in what seems to be a long line of railroad containers welded together. Real classy place with terrible games.

I've played at the Isle of Debris in Iowa (as Flash likes to call it), but that was many years ago. I pulled out a few decks of their used cards a few years ago when Flash and I were hanging out. As soon as he saw the cards he pointed at them, laughed hysterically and said, "Isle of Debris"! Their motto at the time was, "We're not the biggest but we're the best". I had to question best at what? It was nothing to write home to mom about but then again, if you've seen the inside of one casino, you've pretty much seen them all. I was passing through and only played there the one time, since it's well off my beaten path. I barely remember it other than I whacked them for some money and moved on. Apparently there are currently some decent (by today's standards) games in the Midwest, though.

I had HEARD that Moses.....to pervert the proverbial saying, "I wouldn't play there with YOUR money!"

Have NEVER had the personal experience (or pleasure?).
