Don, when you are looking at an online game, people assume reasons for it and one of them is that you think there may be possibilities of legitimate, trustworthy online games. Such is your reputation...a non nonsense guy who would not consider online games unless he has reasons to believe it's an honest game and thus enquiries about rules.

This game is being run and dealt by the Golden Nugget within its physical casino in Atlantic City. Sanctioned by the state of New Jersey. Do you think they'd risk their license cheating?? So, yes, I think it's legitimate -- which doesn't mean it's beatable.

So, when someone who lives in NJ actually gets around to playing it and reporting on it, that's when this thread, which has been more than pathetic so far, will become interesting.

Finally, a meaningful response, posted by Bo Fisher on bj21.com:

"The game is only open from 5PM to 1AM. So I checked when it was open, 8 decks cut in the middle. I assume this means the penetration cut not the shuffle track cut. Dealer hits soft 17, double after split and double on any 2 card total, only one card on split aces, only one bet lost on dealer BJs after doubling and splitting, no surrender, no resplit, and BJ pays 3-2. Hurry before it is 6-5. I didn't actually play yet so the half shoe cut is everybody not just me. This is also typical at most of the offshore places as well. It looks like you can play 2 hands. If disconnected during a hand you must stand but if the disconnection occurs before the bet timer hits zero it is a push."

And THAT, my friends, is what an answer should have looked like!

Good point Don. A lot of chatter not pertinent to the subject matter. It happens here a lot.

    Now that's funny.

Half cut 8 deck games have already been discussed rather thoroughly.
