I had to look for that again, that is called the "fair use clause" and the author points it out. It was limited use (Less than 1%) and the book is out of print, as well as for educational purpose, But I emailed the publisher and he decided to take it out as a precaution since it was of limited value. The charts are usually logic based, especially for how to used flashed card info (most of the charts) and the count based decisions are now available as descrete modified basic strategy cards. So for the information on chart 1, just get a count based BS card set from bjinsider and the second chart was already analysed in the book.

I also asked about the kindle books, The author of the book (clearly a pseudo name) also has some other books on kindle, since kindle caps the 70% royalty at under $10 he only offers some books that way; nothing expensive. The dice control data is far more complete than James Grosjean's work, JG stated an 18% edge on the odds bet with an SRR of 8 (this book also goes into better detail on how to estimate the edge than just the SRR) and the potential edge on the fire bet. The treatment on the fire bet is better since it explains a strategy that gives a better edge than simply avoiding 7's as used in JG's analysis, and gives a much better sidebet to use than the fire bet (and where to find it).Voodoo is a harsh word, an example of logic that some may consider voodoo: "A friend brought $600 to baccarat and was up $5000, within the last 15 minutes of the cruise he lost $5600 betting $500 a hand until he was broke. Basically, for a while he was picking right each time (pure luck); when he started to lose he should either leave or cut his bet in half each time until he starts winning again. That way he loses 1-2 of his won units at the most, instead of all of his gains." If you have an edge it's a little different, but if you keep losing despite an edge you may be missing something (and might want to quit early to evaluate your position), and to call "quit while you are ahead" voodoo is a bit harsh. There may be typos, I didn't notice anything major.

Please, please do not post things like this again. Nearly every claim of "fair use" outside of real publishers is false. "Less than 1%" does not make it fair use. "Out of print" does not make it fair use. "Educational purposes" is clearly a false claim in this case as it is being sold -- not a handout in a classroom by a legitimate educational institution. If he is making "fair use" claims in this manner, he's a crook.

JG also includes a lot of material making it pretty clear that he considers attempts at dice control to be a waste of time. If in spite of that you want to go down that path, it sounds as if the Notes could have something that you'd find interesting.

Thanks for posting an excellent article link. I just hope people don't pick and choose which sentences they use.

JG has chosen not to reprint his magnum opus. Judge his decision as right or wrong if you wish. But, don't copy it.

    To Norm:
And as I stated, the publisher decided to remove the chart as a precaution and is no longer available. As to your earlier statement, notifying the uninformed that analysis and summation of a book (creating the equivilent of "cliff notes") is not violating the original copyright is logical. Fair use can apply to "for profit", the best example is mr skin! He takes clips from movies and sells subscriptions. But again, the publisher already removed that chart and it can be found on count based play variation BS cards at bjinsider.

As to the claim that an unknown cannot add to the information in a book made by JG forgets that JG was an unknown when he published Beyond Counting in 2000.

As to the comment on "JG states dice control is of little value", that is not the whole story. He states you would need to have an SRR above 6 to gain an edge, an SRR of 8 is a significant edge for the low house edge bets. JG even shows an edge over high house edge bets like the fire bet, with SRR of 8. So, it is not accurate to say that JG calims dice control is useless. He does say that it is difficult and requires certain criteria to achieve (short tables without too much bounce and shooting close to the stick).

I looked at my copy for the "typos" I think it was things like not capitalizing Vegas and forgetting an appostrophy. There are worse things to worry about.

    A couple of points:

    1. "Mr. Skin" would be in violation of "fair use" if he actually made that claim in court. But, the studios actually send him clips for advertisement and have never pressed it in court.
    2. You are the author of the "cliff notes" and should really stop talking about yourself in third person. It's not honest.

"He knows that his music lacks depth
But it just can't be helped
He has nothing interesting to say
    So he writes about himself
But he doesn't want to seem self-obsessed
So he writes in third person
In an attempt to sound more rock'n'roll
But he knows it's not working"

Other sites are all over the place, Mrskin is the only one the studio's help out.

Actually, i'm a small time pornographer and just gamble as a hobby; I havent written any books. I know more about the porn business than gambling, except that I seek out any edge possible and got a real kick out of both the CAA book and the notes. Nice try though.

I have verified that ccounter is the person selling the "book."

And I'm sure based on your avatar that you are Gandhi.

I don't care who you think I am, the point is: it's a good book that analyses the CAA book pretty well; and has information JG point's out he won't include (like specific tactics and where to find certain opportunities, the JG specifically states he won't include and merely alludes to in CAA). The only thing that the notes are very different from the CAA book is that the original book has a lot of charts (and many of those charts can be found on wizard of odds and similar sites now) and the notes are more written analysis.

Ccounter has been suspended for two days for SPAM, a violation of our TOS. He can return and defend the "notes" if he fesses up.

I take the word of known handles who have posted multiple times on various subjects vs. someone with only six posts and has only opined on one subject

I'd like to make one more point. As I understand it the book is not out of print. He is just highly selective of who he sells it to.
