    I think it's 4 straigt lines.
    3 is easy but cheating in a finite world.

    Only if the straight lines are not hindered by borders. If no borders, then the solution is child's play.
    Heck, I can connect 9 dots with 1 straight line.

    With mathematical dots without dimension you can with 3 lines ? Chapeau.

    of course norm you are full of wisdom and well respected. The guy said there are less than 5% that can figure it out in maybe 1-2minutes( that is assuming it is the 1st time you seen the puzzle) . I am certainly not one of them. . that is the same thing as not everyone can run 100m in 9.8secs
