Virus attacks appear to have increased enormously of late. Be careful on the 'Net.
You can pick up a virus from many, many places. Some of those places are fairly innocuous and only track the stuff you do so that you can receive advertising customized to your interests. Ain't that convenient? If you ever visit the more unsavory places on the internet you might pick up something a bit more harmful.
Most folks have some sort of virus protection software. If you don't you should. It is like driving your car without wearing your seatbelt. Most packages include full scan of your hard drive on a schedule and real time protection. I use two. I have one commercial virus protection package and also a free one from Microsoft. If you have a windows operating system, go out to Microsoft and download and install Microsoft Security Essentials aka Windows Defender.
