    Sacrificial splitting

    Norm,

Is there any way to quantify the effect of sacrificial splitting in CV Data? In Australia, we use the BB+1, OBBO and ENHC hole card rules and up to 3 bets can be made in the same box but only the front bettor can make the playing decision.

As you would be aware Sacrificial splitting, which I understand Americans call Caller/Rider, can be used to lower the house edge for the Basic Strategy player by deviating from Basic Strategy on paired hands if the ratio of the size of the front bet to the back bet exceeds a certain percentage. The EV of the paired hands for any rule set can be calculated by using a Combinatorial Analyser and then the Critical ratios calculated for each pair.

The discard split option in CV Data seems to only cover infinite ratios because it allows for one of the paired cards to be discarded but is there an option or a procedure that can be used so the lower ratio pairs can also be analysed? The purpose of the exercise is to quantify any additional advantage for a card counter using this technique under any set of rules and playing conditions.
