Did any of you ever watch Married With Children? There was this episode where Al inexplicably starts having a streak of good luck. Jefferson wants to cash in on his good luck so he offers to stake him to play poker. Al cleans out the other players. The only thing left is their cars. So they play one 5-card draw hand for all their cars. He gets a royal flush, but then proceeds to throw away his 10, J, Q, and K for four new cards. When Jefferson asks what the hell he's doing, he says that he will be "doomed" if he plays that hand because a proportional amount of bad luck will come his way. He just can't have such an enormous amount of good luck because he knows the opposite can happen. When he gets his new cards, they're all aces. So he has four aces and wins the hand anyway. It turns out however, that the other guys cars were stolen so now the cops arrest Al for all the cars since they are now in his possession.

I must accept the realization that I will have a to suffer a similar fate with variance at some point. Because you see, I'm SO hot right now. I'm definitely at an all-time high and have had a huge burst of positive variance. In fact, I haven't lost even one single time in August. That's right. As we close August, every session that I have had this month has closed a winner. Now, I spread my action out over different casinos during the day. So I HAVE had losses at certain casinos on a given day, but by the end of any day that I have played in August, I have come out ahead. I have no daily recorded losses for the month. I'd like to think that this is due to my smarts and the counts that I use, but whom am I kidding? This is just variance.

Even negative shoes have been friendly. Last night, I had no choice but to play through 3 extremely negative shoes. But I was winning anyway with my waiting bets. When I thought low cards would come out, high ones came out anyway, and I got em. I even finished one shoe with a RC of -28 with only 3/4 of a deck left (using Zen count). So I am even winning in negative shoes apparently.

There's no doubt about it. I'm hot. I'm so hot that I am going to have to plan some strategy in terms of where I play since I can't seem to lose. And like Al Bundy, I know that a proportional amount of variance can happen too. At some point, I am going to have to handle a very different kind of streak. But for the moment, it's good times.

Damn I'm hot.
