Was playing blackjack last night and had situation that I never encountered before. I was second player in five player table. I get queen on my first card, guy on end gets ace on his first card, dealer has six showing. Then he gives first guy his second card, inexplicably skips next three players and puts down an ace on last player's card. This would have been my blackjack. Guy on end was mad too because he wanted a chance at his blackjack. Pit boss was unhelpful but called the manager. Manager said that there was no way to "back up the cards" so that I did not get my blackjack. Her ruling was that the pair of aces on the end stood, then I get the next card and the next two players get the next two cards. Then each player gets to decide whether they want to stay in the hand or get their money back. I get a four, take back my money and leave. Fourth guy gets a 10 as well so guy on end also would have had blackjack.

It seems to me that because there was no ambiguity about what happened and it was not after a miscommunication between dealer and player about hitting or standing, that I should have gotten my blackjack. Even if the not backing up cards rule technically applied in this situation, given that it was a blackjack, they should have just paid my hand anyway for good customer relations. I find it hard to believe that the manager does not have the discretion to do so.

Is this just an example of a bad dealer mistake and bad luck or did I get screwed by the casino?
