    Match Play Coupon question

Recently I had had a rare 5 figure winning day and I
was headed to my suite for a hot bath and some sleep.

Passing by a kiosk, I swiped my player's card and, since
it was well after midnight, I had yet another $100 Match
    Play coupon.

Tired, I cared little about the outcome. So ... The closest
table was a roulette table. I was obliged, of course, to bet
on red, so I dropped a Benjamin with the coupon and my
    player's card.

The ball landed on 00 and I was given back my black chip,
with the loss of just the M.P. Coupon.

This was like the European half-loss or the "en prison" rule
that is in effect on all even-money bets on the wheel.

Thoughts on this are very welcome.

"Thoughts on this are very welcome."

You didn't ask a question. What would you like to know? If you're just looking for "thoughts," clearly, the morons should have taken your $100 and left you with the coupon!

If the coupon said "one time bet only" they could not have left the coupon.

In some jurisdictions, like New Jersey, they take half your even money bet by law when green is spun. It is illegal for them to take more than half. Almost always they leave the coupon and take half the cash. Sometimes they will do both, or at least try to. You need to point out the coupon states it has a minimal cash value. They are faced with either taking the coupon or taking half your bet. Most take half your bet and leave the coupon because they get some of your money and you bet again. The coupons EV is less than half your bet so even from that standpoint it is surprising they didn't take half the bet instead of the coupon. I guess you got lucky to push instead of losing $50 and having 18 out of 38 you win a net of $150 and 18/38 you lose a net of $150 and 2/38 you lose another $50 for a net of $100 and still have the coupon. It is a pretty close call though.
