Ronster,
As far as an actual A.P. is concerned, you are probably (essentially
an "intermediate" skill level player with considerably more optimism
than experience. You have no "bona fides" or references I assume.
Networking is important for everyone. Beginner, intermediate or expert. I'm no expert by any means, but I have networked with some of the top posters over the years including bigplayer and Dog Hand who have helped me with promotions or other things to sensitive to post.
There is no reason a beginner can't supply as good information as an expert. An expert is probably more likely to help a beginner because they know their little bets won't burn out a good game. A beginner probably can't help much on heat with big bets, but he can still observe and get a feel of how a casino reacts to big action.
I'm interested in any information you might have on Laughlin. I make one or two charter flight trips per year to Laughlin. So far no back offs, but I know my card is flagged at one casino. My email is [email protected]
Im interested in networking, sharing information, and learning from other APs. free to email me at [email protected]
Many years ago a man was offering 10% of his profits for information sharing. He said maybe it is a game you have been backed off of or don't have the bankroll to take advantage of it. It was just done on the honor system. It worked out well for both of us i pointed him to a game I was backed off from. When I get enough of a BR I plan on doing this as my time is limited. So maybe something to think about if you really want some good info.
If I can offer some advice, I would say the best thing to do is to be active on multiple forums and establish yourself in the community. Not saying that you haven't (I recognize your handle and I know you were around before me). But that's what worked for me. I actively participated on a few forums and made it a point to meet with other established members of the community. Eventually, this lead to building a large network of APs and I've also made a lot of great friends along the way.
I would recommend being active on a few different sites and I think over time, people will contact you individually. The more people you meet in the community, the more you'll realize what a small world this is. It's amazing... almost everywhere I travel now, I feel like it's very common for someone that I know to be in town at the same time or know someone who lives in the area. I usually have one or two people I can call up to meet for dinner or coffee when I'm on the road. And the amount I've learned from building these relationships has been amazing.
Ive lurked here for years and still think im a ways off from meeting anyone. I want to make sure i have something to offer before i trespass on the kindess of the members of the board. Ive read so many books but nothing compares to the hidden gems embedded in even off-hand remarks buried deep within the unfathomable chambers of tthrees dostoeyevskian posts, ZMF's superlative snark efficiency (SE), and Don's ability to make someone look like they love the taste of their own bathwater without cursing or grammatical error
