Thread: A surreal 20 years.

    A surreal 20 years.

    I Quit !


    A "Living Legend" steps back and views his 66+ years.


    This has happened following a series of bad beats [including a huge robbery]


    The first half of the year I "earned" $66,500; and by year's end I was "Even"


    Volatility I no longer welcome in (what remains of) my life.


    Money really has nothing to do with this transcendence < ? >


    The other issue for me was an "internal" problem.


    I am becoming progressively (if slowly) demented.


    I am now an "absent-minded professor"


    although my complex "counting" is unaffected.


    I am having cataract surgery on both eyes in Jan.


    I can no longer see the dealer's name-tags !


    Diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, spinal stenosis, arthritis,


    fibromyalgia, gout, etc. have inexorably taken their toll.


    So now I read voraciously and engage in other avocations.


    It became a difficult philosophical decision in the end.

    In any case I will continue to haunt these hallowed spaces

    posting regularly as instructor emeritus and elder statesman.

    Only a doofus would assign a modicum of credence to a marketing
    scheme proffering allopathic, or worse yet, homeopathic panaceas.

    Flash,

    Thank you for telling us about your issues and bad fortune. I am truly sorry. I think you are one of the greats of the game, although I never met you but do know some that have. In the end we all must exit from the Trenches of AP play, either forced to by the casino eye itself, or our old age or sickness. This brings to mind Math-Prof and Bootlegger of late, not that you are taking their route at present but in time we all will. I wish you the very best and I am sure you will be around here for sometime to impart your vast wisdom gained from experience and a high degree of intelligence. Maybe someday, if I should venture to AC or those where abouts, I will have the opportunity to meet you in person.

    To all of you that desire to hijack this serious thread started by Flash, (which took alot of courage on his part), let this thread not be derailed by your silly runabout about the state of medicine or homeotherapy, etc. etc., by doing so you belittle Flash,,please show him respect.
