I was wondering how long did some of you get reasonably good at doing it this way . A pretty rough estimate would be good ?Also , if some is using chip to help them doing some kind of work load ,would it be consider against the law in some jurisdiction ?

It could be argued that chips are a device that you are using to gain an advantage. If the judge was open to this argument you are breaking the law in some jurisdictions. They could be used as an abacus (manual calculator) by people who know how to do this.

That sounds pretty unlikely to me. If the casino tried to argue that their own chips are a device they are likely to make the funny pages. What if I use my fingers and toes?
