    Funny Burn Card Story

So I was in Chicago this past week for a short vacation.

Of course I visited a few casinos. I was shocked to learn two things: first, in Illinois all player cards HAVE to be dealt face up. The casinos responded by not offering 2D games--everywhere is 6+ decks.

Second, if you ask to see the burn card, they have to show you (see rule, above). I was not so forward, but most everyone else was. At one casino, the dealers held up the burn card like a church offering, while saying "burning the (insert card)" before placing it in the discard tray. They even did this if the dealers changed, and they burned a second card.

I felt like I was a kid at Mass, and had to stop myself from saying "Amen" each time. I also wondered why they'd even burn a card, if they had to show you...

All in all, it was a good trip.

Burning a card is to stop someone from using that info before receiving that card. If it's an ace and you happened to know it . Only one time i get to bet whatever i wanted without anybody else knew. i didn't bet table max. it was close though.
