The patrons of the Detroit Three are the worst I have ever encountered anywhere. Many are crazy, rude, and I have no doubt a select few are dangerous. There are hobos loitering and operating panhandling scams INSIDE the casinos. MGM has the best game and a worthwhile side-bet, but with having to pay the exchange rate and considering the atmosphere, if I were you I'd play in Windsor. I wouldn't even consider Greektown or MotorCity.

You know nothing about the Detroit area, or the casino there. I see you as a person you THINKS he knows everything. A Mister know it all. When is the last time you did play there? Players are very easy going at the casino. As for telling someone to go to Windsor which is Caesar's/Harahs. Lots of 8 deck H17 with 2 or more cutoff. High limit room is 6 deck with about 1 3/4 cut and they watch like a hawk. Would you send him there? You probably have never even been there. Freightman will not be disappointed if he plays at GT. Now tell me what you know about the Detroit area and the casinos other then the useless dribble that comes out of your mouth. The only thing that is true in your post is the Motor City Casino is no good.

If you ever come to Detroit look give me a heads up and I will show you around.

Our sheltered Canadian lifestyle, especially here in the west, makes us used to far lower crime stats.
Not true. Take a look at the source. He probably has not ever been out of his mothers basement.

My oldest brother lived n a suburb of Detroit (Oakpark) in the late 60's, warly 70's. I visited for a few weeks in 1970. my first few days over the July 4 weekend. I recall the radio announcer p, with his exuberant pride, announcing 11 murders over the weekend - further proclaiming - making a total of 17 for the month. I also recall the general neighbourhood around the old Tiger stadium. It was rough and ugly pure ghetto. My brother commented the only safe time in the area for a white guy was during ball games. I had a shaded view to begin with - though I do confess a certain desire to kibbitz with Les at American Jewellery and Loan - kinda reminds me if my dad. I'll further consider Detroit.

Would actually like to go to Missouri or Pensylvania - can't get their in 1 flight, though I could make Philadelphia by flying to One of the New York airports and driving a couple of hours - a thought.

LOL, what? That's news to me. Must be that self-serve coffee/soda station across from the bathroom at MGM is just a lucky guess. Everybody has self-serve coffee.

I'm confused. I thought you said I had never been there before.

Tell that to the player I got 86ed for following me to the bathroom and casually asking me to give him a portion of my winnings. He actually was bizarrely easy going about trying to jack me.

Yes, or MGM if he thinks a better game is worth the 3% exchange fee and the barbarians...definitely not the other two. ?Estoy hablando en Espanol aqui? You remind me of this state senator or rep, one of the two, from Detroit. I was in grad school with him. Quite awhile ago, I did a report on how Detroit was basically on the verge of bankruptcy. He felt personally insulted and interrupted my report to deny my outrageous slander. I think we all have a pretty good idea of who knew what they were talking about.

Where I have to fly, I want non stop trips.

    Appreciate any info.
If you are coming to the USA why not go to Wendover NV. It probably has the best blackjack in the entire country. Fly into Salt Lake City, rent a car, and then drive 2 hours on US-80 to Wendover. There are 5 casinos all with single deck. House edge only .15 the big 3 are the best and are owned by the same company, Peppermill. So if you can get a direct flight to Salt Lake City this would be my first choice. On my first trip there that is exactly what I did, but now I take the charter flights. I still hope to make a visit there this year or my comps will expire.

Second choice. Minneapolis area. Casinos are spread out and it will take a couple of hours to get from one to the next. Casinos in western WI have great games. I'm thinking Danbury and Turtle Lake. I had my biggest life time win at Danbury, but that was during a promotion so not fair to brag about. Rooms are cheap ($50 and doesn't take much play to get comped room) The pit boss Mike at Danbury is sharp, but will probably let you play even if he knows you are a counter if just first time.

Danbury is just 26 miles down the road from Hinckley. Hinckley is a large casino. Mystic lake is not far from the airport and would be a good casino to start out with.

I didn't know that you are pushing 80 or so. It's a good thing you remembered that from the 60's or 70's. Very useful. Good Luck wherever you play.

    One last thought Philly?

You are truly a piece. A MISTER KNOW it all. Is their anything that you do not know? A wealth of knowledge. From politics to urban cities to gambling. Anything else? I forgot one other thing. That thread where you were giving you expertise on Aussie casino law with the people from down and under. I am thinking about going to Australia do you know where in the casino the free coffee and pop station is? Also the locations of the bathrooms that would be helpful.

Not even close to that age - wouldn't mind philly - would need 2 flights, r fly direct to New York, rent a car and drive back. I've been to New York a few times A have several friends in the area. Car rental rates from New York or Newark are very high as I recall compared to philly, though I'll have a peek.

The nice thing about SLC airport is you avoid all the traffic. But take a good whiz at the last stop in Utan because there is no place for about 100 miles.

    Flash, best in US?
A possibility - type of weather I'm used to - shorter flight than Windsor - for sure - have thought about it before - my info tells me they wouldn't take my modest stakes for long - though I could tone, modify etc.

No idea, but it's probably safer to drink in Australia than in Detroit.

Hey Boz, thanks for helping me with my thread. I don't understand why I'm not allowed to learn anything else pertaining to my question, per Norm, yet again because of trivial but instructive bickering around the issue. And I'm not really sure I got it answered: how much heat will enhancing the spread out to $60 bring if we're talkin' $100 max bet establishments?

No problem, anytime. Norm closed the thread to prevent further arguing, it had nothing to do with you. You're not really supposed to ask questions about your other thread here, that's considered 'derailing' this thread. If you have more questions, start a new thread.
