    Blackjack Autumn

At the recommendation of ZMF, I just finished this book. Very entertaining stories of a proficient card counter taking a few months off to visit every casino in Nevada. He played exclusively single and DD games (it was set in the 90s - he even played the El Cortez). He keeps a log for each day and talks about the highlights of all the sessions.

Best part is the author's sense of humor. He has a treasure trove of great one-liners relative to blackjack play. I'm going to go back and list and memorize some of the really good ones for use at the tables. For instance, on one bad session he said he got "abused worse than Tina Turner". I've already used that one to rave reviews....

    That's one very strong recommendation.

It's not a reference book as such, however, it is a very entertaining read - well worth it. Think the author, Barry Meadows I think, was recently interviewed somewhere.

What makes the book so very fine (for a coterie of BJ aficionados)
is that we can existentially relate so very well to the protagonist.

Thanks for the review BD... Seems like the type of book I would enjoy at this point so I'll have to check it out!

Although it was a long time ago, he was interviewed on GWAE about his book and various topics:
