I would play out a few more rounds or another shoe if it's a DD game, then casually leave after that.
I handled it a little differently.

A swift walk out the doors jamming 30-some black chips in my pockets.

After winning 2k in one "shoe" on a 2d game I figured I'd blow my gambler cover (if I had any) if I were to return to a min bet to start the next "shoe."

No doubt in my mind they would have stopped me at the cage if I had gone.

According to a couple of downtown casinos in Vegas the next day they had a "hold" on their black chips. Not sure if that was my doing.

Another note, even in the last 2 months cashing out chips at downtown casinos has become increasingly difficult. Most places refusing. Some going as far as using a magnifying glass for inspection. And the D/Golden Gate will just exchange them for their chips. "But you have to play them" Funny how I always break even those "sessions" LOL

Most casino chips now have build-in RFID "chips". You have to cash them in the same day. That is how casinos track who are winning and how much.

I'm aware some chips have RFID but I do not know why that would mean I have to cash them same day. Care to elaborate?

In my experience the majority of the tracking is done by the floors and also the cage if you're cashing out a large amount(varies by place) or $500+ chips.

There is no "why". Casinos just want to make AP's life miserable. By the way, you can still stack black chips. Only purple chips need to be redeemed immediately. When I got purple chips, the pit boos always told me I have to go to cage immediately or at least on the same day.

Or else? Is your experience is limited to one place?

Not trying to be argumentative but I have never had a problem cashing them out days later and have done it multiple times. Even with 1000's. Multiple places in Vegas.

If nothing else, go check it down on a bac table or some other game and take black to the cage.

Your mistake was in believing the pitboss.
