    Odds!?

Can someone please tell me the odds of losing about not winning 1 hands in 11 total ROUNDS at a positive count playing two hands!? I recently entered table! at +1 had the edge at +1 my count and count went to around +2 the whole time and i didnt win one hand! I push one or two hands and lost the rest. I was playing two hands I believe for the whole time. I believe it was about 11 or 12 rounds and didnt win one AT A POSITIVE COUNT!. Is this statistically possibllee?! oR WAS I cheated?!

You were not cheated. One reason the Martingale system does not work is because such streaks occur often enough.

Hey ZEe! I edited my post, please check. It was not 11 or 12 HANDS! But rather 11 or 12 ROUNDS! I was playing 2 hands as well each round!

Basically, the dealer won 11 or 12 hands, you might have lost 15+ hands. It happens. Other stuff such as losing anytime you bet 2+ units and winning when playing a min. Bet.

today, I was up $900 ($25 min, DD game) after 2 hours, then requested a lunch comp intending to leave as soon as I received the comp and in the one shuffle, the count went to TC+5., lost $175 max bet after another max bet and in the minute or so, lost 4 max bets in a row. Went home even, with a pastrami sandwich.

OP, what is your definition of a "round"?
are you playing single deck (don't believe LOL) or double deck?
Zee, you know OP to be a progression player?

Losing that many rounds in a row happens every now and then. I remember I played a DD shoe a few months ago and I literally didn't win one single hand the entire shoe (lost every hand except the last one, where I pushed). I also recall playing a 6D shoe once where I lost 80% to 90% of all my hands. As Zee said, there's probably no way you were cheated. Blackjack is an extremely volatile game.

But did you lose all those hands in positive counts??!! I feel a little weird to lose that many hands at an advantage in a row!

The OP did not win one single hand out of 22 hands when TC was at least +1. Most likely been cheated.

Covariance goes up in high counts. The dealer gets more BJ's and 20's. If the good cards run to the dealer or you get weak hands you either have to stand on a stiff or likely bust (remember you aren't as likely to draw that low card you need to make your hand when playing against a T or A, which are the most likely dealer upwards you will face). You also double a lot more when you need a dealer bust. If the dealer is drawing the cards to make hands you are screwed.

You sound like you think a big plus count means you are going to win a lot of hands in the short run. The likelihood you will win the hand hardly changes. You just make more frequent and more profitable doubles and splits and make more BJ's. That is where your advantage primarily comes from. Believe me we all have played big plus count shoes heads up and hardly won a hand. I would be playing 2 hands and the dealer seems to get an ace every time and when he doesn't it is usually a T. If I don't get good cards I am screwed before the dealer does anything. Then when the dealer finally gets a bust hand he hits out to 21. This happens all to frequently at BJ. Fortunately you enjoy the other side of the coin more often or are usually somewhere in the middle.

I doubt you were cheated. I have thought things went so bad they had to be cheating more than once. They weren't. The fact is if you play enough you will see everything and this result is a not that uncommon part of everything. Bottom line if you believe they cheat don't go back. I have had stores with the best games that I had a hard time winning at. From analyzing the difference in conditions I figured out what conditions work best for me. It didn't really help me beat that game with the conditions that helped neutralize the best rules and great pen but it did help me crush games independent of rules and pen by knowing when to play and when to pass on playing.

Seriously?! Is this real life??? Just because he lost 12 or 13 rounds in a row, you automatically assume he was cheated? Unless this was a pitch game on an Indian reservation that has a reputation for cheating, I HIGHLY DOUBT he was cheated. Most casinos would never risk it because the risk absolutely out-weighs the reward! Not to mention the fact that most casino patrons are lousy blackjack players. No need to cheat if player losses are inevitable.

That doesn't matter! 12 or 13 rounds is nothing. That sample size is so insignificantly small! How long have you been playing? Because if you've spent enough time playing this game, you would realize that these types of occurrences are commonplace and actually not so "weird". I hope you also realize that the biggest losses you will take will occur during very high counts and I hope you can understand why. If not, it might be better to spend less time at the tables and more time hitting the books. Blackjack is a very volatile game and yields big swings; positive and negative.

I can tell you that from my limited experience, I've had numerous instances where I lost multiple thousands in a matter of a few minutes because the count called for max bets and I lost multiple hands back to back. I've also seen the positive side of it too where I've won multiple thousands in a matter of minutes because I won every single max bet that I laid out on the felt. These swings are normal. Such extreme occurrences don't happen too often, but you better be mentally (and financially) prepared when it does.

I have lost 20 straight hands (no pushes) twice in my life off the top in a 6D shoe and have had many other brutal shoes of losing almost every hand. Not long ago I lost 5 consecutive hands (2 handed) at max bet to end the shoe. A few months ago I saw a guy win 5 hands in 3 consecutive 8D shoes. Luckily for him I guess the table was full so he was only seeing about 22 rounds per shoe. On the flip side I watched a guy not hit any bustable hand playing 2 handed at $200-300 a hand and won $10,000 in about 4 shoes. Dealer said he had beat him 3 times that week for $10,000 playing the same way.

Blackjack can be a cruel game sometimes.

    Simple, generic calculation?:

.48 percent chance of winning a hand. Losing 12 in a row? .0311640298 chance?
