I am still using HO2, officially.
Officially, because I am reading Blackbelt 3rd Ed. And one thing leads to another...
Side counting aces, I do, it's the extra math which I am wondering if, as an amateur, I really need. Adapting from HO2 to Zen in CVBJ game and drills was surprisingly easy. Indices are different but I'm looking warning them just as easily.
Daniel Dravot’s system is called TKO for True-Counted Knock Out.
I don't know how you define "successfully" but….
I'm new to AP (just started this calendar year) and play low-stakes ($15 minimum). I rarely bet >$100. I keep track of my play on an Excel spreadsheet and since I've started tracking (which covers 8 sessions) I'm up $525.
My first three sessions were:-$200; -$350 and -$300 the next three sessions were: $200; $700 and $220 the next session: -$20 and the last was $275.
I'm still learning AP in general and I'm probably 99% accurate on my basic strategy chart (which incorporates the Holy Rollers strategy).
I'm not going 100% as advised on the spreading of bets as it makes me nervous so I don't really ramp up the way the system speaks; I will, but that will take time to get to and I'm in no hurry.
So, to answer your question, "yes" I'm using TKO and I "think" it's successful.
I hope that answers your question.

As for the acronym "TKO", I take that to mean true-counted KO. Dravot's system incorporates some true-counting to KO to eliminate the biggest weaknesses of the system (i.e., under-betting early in the shoe and over-betting late in the shoe), but it does not go all the way to true-counting in all situations.
I use a full, true-counted KO method and the top 50 or so indexes (you can generate these in CVData). I've found it to be quite effective in both shoe games and DD games. In terms of SCORE, it slightly outperforms Hi-Lo (presumably due the the inclusion of 7s as +1).
