"Advantage players cost casinos millions of dollars annually. "

The title of this post was the headline in a recent email advertising the seminar found at the link below.

So, if you are not getting your fair share, perhaps signing up will move the needle for you. LOL

It sounds JUST like Eliot's phrases.............

He must make more money from the "darkside" but at least he posts information that is helpful on his site...........when it's not removed to promote his newest book.

What the hell is that statistic supposed to mean?

'Millions of dollars lost'? Are we talking 2 mil or more than 2 mil? It's probably 2 mil, isn't it? 2 mil doesn't sound as good as millions since millions can mean $50 million. If it was 50 mil, he would have said tens of millions because that would have sounded better.

Over how many casinos are we talking? I assume the statistic is talking about casinos throughout the country? I think we have about 1500 in the US. So 2,000,000/1500 = $1333 per year? Lol I think a casino can afford that breakage

    It's just advertising

Good point. And how many "millions" are lost by casino paranoia?

If 10,000 casino computers sign up for the webinar that is over $2 million dollars right there. Is the cost of $2 million dollars from AP's there winnings or the consulting fees paid to people like Elliot and other game protection specialists?

Question--and I mean this without any judgment or snark intended--

Many posters on this site become upset if there is discussion of advanced technique on this forum, with the rationale that it makes things easier for the other side when stuff is posted on a public forum.

But why then, would we want to help publicize a website that not only offers concrete examples of advanced technique and strategy, but furthermore is devoted to making money by educating the other side in the aforementioned? Shouldn't we just not mention his site and wish him obscurity?

There was no intent to post it as a promotion, I was being sarcastic. I posted it because I felt the members here should know what he is doing, though most already do. Mr. Jacobson is a frequent poster on other forums offering his sage advice in AP matters and, I am sure, staying in touch with the things going on in the AP world.

I actually own his book and it does contain good information on many subjects. But I am in no way a fan of what he does with his knowledge.

Which book do you own ? 'Advanced AP' priced $45 in amazon.com ? Is it worth to read ?

Yes, Advanced Advantage Play. Not really a "read", more of a reference manual. Most info is a reprint from web site. Yes, some good info on various side bets. Just good to have all that in one place.

You really think APs across the US are making a combined $2M? Let's do some math.....that's 20 APs at $100k a year (I know at least 5-8 APs off the top of my head who make $100k+/year....and I know another small bunch who make ~$40k/year I'd guess). Then there are the APs who I don't know personally, but see them around LV or out of town playing good promos...another 6-10 people, most probably make $50k/year and a few are in the $150-250k/year range. Not to mention, the big high roller APs who can make some serious money (i.e.: Don Johnson). Throw in all the hobbyist APs, weekend warriors, and guys who play a few times a year.

Have I been incredibly blessed, knowing or having met almost all of the top earning APs in the US? (Hint: This is a rhetorical question.)

I don't know how much money US casinos (or all casinos worldwide) lose to APs....but I'd put it more in the $40-100M range. Definitely above $10M, though.
