In antediluvian times, Arnold would, now and again, send me a diskette with the Blackjack Forum Magazine Table Conditions. I’d include this in CVBJ. Of course, the magazine is no longer, and the data base has aged far beyond its shelf life. Its only use now is in the nostalgia felt viewing the lack of 6:5 BJ. (Back when casinos made money from gaming.)
CV/CBJN
In cooperation with Pi Yee, CV now includes a CBJN-derived data base. Here’s how it works:
- From the menu in the game, click Casino-DB, then View Casino Data Base. This displays the entire DB in what I hope is an easy to read, color-coded format. The rules key is included in a dropdown at the bottom of the screen. Click column headers to sort the casinos by various attributes.
- From the menu, click Casino DB-Search. Set filters and click Search to find desired rule sets. Click on a rule set and click Select to set the CV rules for that game. Filters are easy to set with dropdowns, but can include complex searches like double deck, less than $25 min, no 6:5, with Five-Card Charlie.
- From the menu, Casino DB-Select Casino. This displays the casinos in an explorer tree. A Rules Key is found at the bottom. Open a state folder then city folder, then casino folder to see the rule sets for that casino. Click on a rule set and click Select to set the CV rules for that casino.
- An older CBJN DB is included if you have no CBJN license. If you have a license, from the Select Casino screen, click Update. Enter your username and password (they will be remembered) and it will load and convert the latest data base from BJ21.
- Note: The Edit Casino function has been dropped as the DB will be regularly updated for CBJN subscribers. However, you can view the ancient casino DB.
Blackjack Weather Center
Now for something completely different. For fun, I created a web page that displays some of the data in chart form. Basically, to show the current state of the game in the U.S. See https://www.qfit.com/maps.shtml. I hope to keep this updated.
Cost
There is no charge for the update to CVBJ V5.5 or V5.6. That is, users that purchased or updated in the last five years. There is no charge for the Weather Center. The CV update can be found at https://www.qfit.com/downloads.htm#free. The CV demo can be found at https://www.qfit.com/downloads.htm.
As always, suggestions/problem reports are welcome. This includes new charts in the Weather Center.
