I believe the recent ruling was in favor of the argument that the tribal police in AZ casino can be sued because they were acting in a role as agents of the Az state.
This is a related question; what about the Resorts Casino in Atlantic City? I hear it was partially bought by the Mohegan Sun in 2012. I don't know how much ownership they have in it now.
Does that mean that they can basically do whatever they want to you at Resorts now too? Or are they still under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission?
Still under Jersey's CCC as far as I know.
Ms was allowed to purchase 10% of Resorts with an option for an additional 15%. In Oct of 2015 they made an agreement to cancel that 15% in return for an interest in Resorts' online gaming and will use Resorts' license for that purpose.
True there are no longer agents on the casino floors. The CCC still has the office on the Boardwalk. Phone 609 441 3422. They still take information, complaints etc. I think those are then referred to DGE, making the commission a sort of lame duck. Did anyone ever visit the CCC? They keep the front door locked and make you enter on the side. Tennessee Ave I think.
Oh my. I'm a newbie to blackjack, but I was in AC last week and they still have the kiosks in some of the casinos (I saw one at the Taj) but there is never anyone there.
But then it seems they are still subject to state law. That is good if I ever decide to play at Resorts. Like someone posted, I do remember playing at a $10 S17 table at Resorts just a few years ago around when the Revel closed. I won a few bucks there which was good. Plus no smoking from what I remember!
