Well, there are no casinos where I live right now. Other than about 3 weeks worth of breaks, no blackjack until summer time.
Here is a SIM i use/have that you can download FREE...http://www.blackjackforumonline.com/...mSimp_Beta.htm. I have been trying to get someone to rewrite this program to enable it to run SIMS with antes for CA and OK games but to no avail. If anyone can do it please PM me and i will send you my copy of the SIM or just lemme know where i can get the rewritten copy it would be mucho appreciado.
Only if you need correct output. That simulator is outputting wrong numbers, i suspect because it does not use optimized bet spreads.
Well if you want a free version that actually works, check the http://www.blackjacktheforum.com/res...hp?do=cvcxpage . In any case i simply dont understand how one is serious about playing BJ without investing $100 in the top blackjack software in the market.

I believe the problem is that a newcomer doesn't know if they're serious, and likely isn't serious yet. $90 is a hefty price to pay for exploration. I learned on shareware and that old bj game on the rec.gambling ftp site (it still works! kinda). Blackjack7, etc. deal you a ton of hands very quickly, so you can get a feel for it before plunking down $90. I have no idea what they did in the 70s, but my research suggests it involved flint and leeches. Yet they managed.
Result - Ante * NumberOfInitialHands, no not really?

Thanks for the input guys. It's not that I'm not serious about it, I just don't currently have the funds to play BJ or Casino Verite (full package is $270?). I will have the funds by the time I start playing again (summer, possibly spring). But if I were to buy the CV's then, it would be a waste of time between now and then for practicing and such.
But, gotta do what we gotta do. I looked at CVCX online, and it's not quite making sense how it works. What's a good N0? From my understanding, it's the number of rounds you should complete before determining if you're within the right standard deviation (or something like that). Every time I ran it (different inputs, of course), it gave an N0 somewhere between 9,000 and about 15,000. Does that mean for the 9k one, I would need to play about 9000 hands before determining if I'm within 1 standard deviation? And for the 15k, I would need that many hands played before figuring if I'm within 1 standard dev? What's good / bad?
Something else about CVCX online -- it's really...well, there's not much customization. For Zen, it's either 1) zen '80, full index, heads up 2) zen 1998, full index 3) zen ill-18, fab4 4) zen ill-18, fab4, seven players. And I'm left in the dust trying to figure out the differences between 80/1998/"zen".
I guess in the end, I could just get CVBJ and ask others to sim my expected results? But I think I also have far more questions (or research to do) in finding or optimizing the right game. Example: Find good games in LV, figuring out min bet on those games (preferably DD), then use CVData/CVCX to figure out bankroll, bet spreads, which indices (for that game), then get to work on practicing that game. At the same time, I also have several months (about 5.5mo) before I go.
IMO nothing compares to Casino Verite.
I still have the cheap college student mentality and CV was probably the best purchase I've made in a long time.
Less than 100 bucks and I don't ever have to deal to myself and can monitor mistakes/improvements.
I got it when I was still a little wet behind the ears and don't think I would have had a snowballs chance without it.
I've used most the apps on the android store for mobility but they just doesn't compare to CV on a laptop. (hooked up to a large tv or not)
Ah, I got CVBJ a few months ago. Since then, I've realized how much I was lacking. Over time, increasing the speed-scale thing is great. Being able to see all the indices at the click of a button, figuring out where the majority of my mistakes come from, and everything else that comes with it. It easily exceeded my expectations.
