New games? New opportunities for AP players?

I hope Munchkin or someone who is knowledgeable and who posts is going to this gaming summit. Looks like there might be more opportunities for AP players on DIFFERENT games if they are really bringing "skill" into play.

If someone DOES indeed attend, I for one would enjoy a report on the new games that might be coming. I've heard everything from skeeball for money to basketball shooting (like at State Fairs) to video games that are more like you play on Playstation, etc. I have no real clue or idea what is coming down the pike.

Looks like I was correct; new CBS News article on the arcade games that are coming. Make sure you watch the video.

Munchkin and Dancer interviewed Max Rubin this week.
The three of them offer their take on the new offerings.

Thanks Zen; listened and it was very interesting although details about some of the games were not delineated. It's like they may or may not be here............at least not for awhile. And the genius radio program masters talked about whether they were truly skill based or would it be like Uston did to Pacman years ago. Some of the games they mentioned "theoretically" have a payout OVER 100% but they joked that if that were true, no casino was really going to put them in. And they opined that it may not really reach that level of payout theoretically. But still interesting about new skill/video games playing.

Kind of an interesting side mention that if they are trying to pull in millenials to play that they are the ones without the money the casinos are seeking and that older gamblers who did have money to risk in the casinos wouldn't be comfortable playing the games. Some of the group aspects/social aspects of playing live games at different locations/terminals sounded a little fun, too, IF you were traveling in a group.

The key to making money is to offer something where people think they can have the edge but most people can't beat. For example BJ, poker, daily fantasy nowadays. Everybody I know can cpunt cards supposedly, I never spiked to anyone who didn't think they were a good poker player, and everybody thinks they are good at fantasy (only reason they lose is bad calls and injuries). Most of the new stuff I heard of doesn't seem to meet that criteria.

I admit the generation under 30 isn't super bright but they're probably a little sharper than those before them which means they're less likely to play stuff that's obviously lousy like slots. More importantly it is much harder to be rich enough to lose big to the casino but dumb enough to play terrible games these days because a lot of the high paying blue collar work is gone.

What I found funny on the episode was that they were talking about some new machines that start to pay out after a player loses. Can you imagine if we started wonging machines after we see a player lose for awhile? HA!

Kinda like the old slot machine myth..........if that machine hasn't paid out for awhile, then it MUST be due...............LOL Or on Roulette............black has won so many times in a row........RED HAS to be coming up. It's DUE!!

But based upon the GWAE program, some of the games sound interesting. Just can't picture them yet. And apparently they may or may not be installed in casinos any time soon.

Looks like Elliot.........from AP Heat (see his feed) and Motley Fool have weighed in........more detail (than in GWAE program) as to what new games that might be here. While they said some were "no brainer", "they would play".......Space Invaders here I come. Used to be damn good at this game.......LOL Still wonder about EV.

    Update on Skill based gaming

Looks like they may be coming sooner than originally thought. Guess it's time to begin practicing "Space Invaders" again, a game I was quite good at back in 80's.........LOL

When and if they come out with a Galaga game my great grandkids won't have to worry about paying for college.
