    Casino A:
The pit is super friendly and fun at all times. In fact, I even love going there to chat with the dealers and pit. I have been building my bankroll for years now, so I decided to finally hit the $25 table. I had no trouble with anyone there and was down about 12 units when I decided to go eat. I saw in the restaurant one of the hosts and asked if I could get a food comp (when you ask the pit bosses, they have to get permission from the hosts so I just cut out the middle-man).
It was a busy night so he went to take care of my comp requests along with others. He returned about 10 minutes later. He handed a comp to people at another table and then came to my table with the comp in his hand. I was alone. He said “oh hey ______.” He was very light hearted. He then sat down at the table with me and he looked me straight in the face and said with the most serious tone and facial expressions that he could muster “We need to have a little talk.” To my credit, I did not flinch at all. I quickly came back with a pleasant “Sure! What’s wrong?” He said after a very brief but well timed pause “you’re losing too much damn money out there!” He then laughed to indicate that he was just kidding around and gave me the comp. He was as light-hearted as ever after that. He gave me the comp and left as he waved at others in the restaurant that knew him.

I thought that maybe this was his way of saying “we know what you’re doing. Don’t overdo it or you’re out.” Was this heat? Am I overthinking this?

    Casino B:
I won’t mention the rules here, but they are excellent. Pen is very generous. A girl who used to be a dealer is now a pit boss. We have always joked around when she was a dealer. I do happen to know that she wants to move up in the casino which is why she decided to be a pit boss. I even hung out with her at another casino once when I happened to see her.
One night I was playing 2D. I was losing. She came over and saw me losing and rooted for me slightly (like pit bosses do). I like for them to know when I am down, so I said “yeah, I’m down a little.” She said, “that’s okay, I know you’re “advantaged.”” She then walked off. I decided not to play in there for a while. I went back in not long ago. She checked me in (players card), and she said “have fun ______!”

Was this heat or just a way of saying that she knows what I am doing? Or maybe it was just a joke and meant nothing (she is a little silly at times).

I realize that you need to actually be there to make a judgment, but some theories as to whether or not veiled threats were being conveyed would be nice. What do you think?
A- no heat here, nothing to worry about. Heat never comes from marketing/Hosts in the US- ever. Marketing, and casino management are not allowed to mingle because of quid pro quo. (ie. The floor is best friends with your casino host, so he gives you a better rating). In my 50+ backoffs, I have only once been BO'ed by a casino host and that was in the Bahamas.

B- You have an issue here. If she used the words "advantaged," she knows what you are up to. Whether or not she will rat you out is a different story. If she's a lowly floor person eager to move up she may. If she likes you, and you make her life easy (not buying in for odd amounts, changing tables often, etc), and she can gain no benefit by ratting you out, it's probably safe to say she doesn't care. A lot of people are saying to avoid her pit- I'm not sure that's necessary. If you guys are on good terms, and you were nice to her when she was a dealer, she may have a soft spot for you. And again, if she has nothing to gain by ratting you out and she likes you, I doubt she will say anything to anyone.

It wasn't Atlantis. It was Bimini, and this was before I was in all the databases so I actually got away with like 3 or 4 days of play. I was up a hefty sum, and had it all in chips when the host BO'ed me off, being told by the casino manager to tell me. I was scared that they were gonna seize my funds, get beat up, whatever... but in the end it all worked out.

Smallcap could you email me at [email protected]?
