New place to play BJ in the Southeast

Just wanted to let you all know that Harrah's opened a new casino in Murphy NC.

    Overview-
70 table games, 1000 slots, 300 room hotel
Part of Harrah's so you can use your Total Reward points

    BJ-
    BJ pays 3-2
    All 6D shoe dealt games
Double on any two cards and double after split
    Split up to 4 hands
Split aces once - one card dealt
    Dealer hits on soft 17
    No surrender
    +3 side bet available
Dealer cuts off approx. 1.5 decks in shoe - will vary by dealer from 1-2 decks so penetration can vary from 83%-66%

During the week - (Mon-Thurs) about 10-20 BJ tables open most are $5-$10 min $500-$1000 max
Weekends - 30-50 BJ tables a few $10 min mostly $15 min some $25 min

From my understanding these rules put the house advantage at about .66%. The $5 minimums would give new players a chance to practice with a relatively small bankroll.

    Carnival games-
    Three card & Mississippi Stud
During the week - (Mon-Thurs) most tables are $5 min
Weekends - usually $10 min some $15 min

    Baccarat-
8D shoe dealt with Dragon bonus
Typically $15 min some $25 min

Just thought I'd let you all know...

My question to the forum is-

Given the rules, minimums and PEN - would this place possibly be a viable place to play?

Thanks for the intel. Rules and conditions sound almost exactly like its sister property in Cherokee. Only difference appears to be more low-limit tables in Murphy, at least during the week.

It is exactly like Cherokee - but Cherokee only has one $5 BJ table ever. Also rarely ever any $5 Carnival tables in Cherokee maybe one or two on a very slow night.

The H17 shoe game is poor, to severely understate the case.

Furthermore, this is a CET property so they will be paranoid.

Eh, depends... For straight up counting, probably not really worth it. You'd have to get that 80%+ PEN every time you play and spread a bit harder, which at a CET property isn't always welcomed. Now if you're going to give some play here with a "winning" but not "optimal" spread, they give a lot of free rooms/etc to Vegas. If you don't have a players card you should definitely do Diamond in a Day and your free play offers will be more than the EV of doing DIAD at a 98.5% VP machine (9-5). So there could be good reasons to play here, other than counting cards, but if this place is 20 min from you and the next closest casino is 1-2 hours away, then there is again some merit. It all depends, but on a straight up nothing else considered case... Eh, I wouldn't choose to play there with those crap rules and higher resulting variance.

biggg - I'll look the next time I am there (Sunday). I know it varies with the minimums. I believe Miss stud is $5-$25 and 3-card is $5-$200? I'll check and let you know...

Are there some $25 minimum and $50 minimum tables, with the same 1-100 ratio?

Note that this place is owned by the Cherokee tribe and Caesars is just managing. Exactly like the one in Cherokee, NC.

To those who play hi limit, this place does not have a HL room. You go to the end pit that are $25/$50 min. You can get a table raised to $100 min, that's your very own HL area.
