    Wynn's War on AP's

Why is the Wynn so aggressive when it comes to card counters? Forget the players who are cheating and past posting, they are more interested in cutting 1.8 instead of 1.5 to reduce a counters hourly by a few bucks. And oh yeah, they actively add- sometimes minimal or non-skilled- players to OSN.

My question is why are they acting this way? They aren't a big chain. Surely I can understand them backing people off, but going the extra mile of adding people to OSN, and the sorts? I just don't get it.

Obviously there are suits who "feather their nest" (justifying their paychecks)
by doing "something that they can claim is making money for their employer.

Wynn hires some really smart people I am sure. He also hires some folks who make sub-optimal decisions for his company.

Case in point. I am headed to Vegas next month for a bachelor party. The best man knows that I go to Vegas a fair amount and asked for input. He had been leaning toward Wynn. Now he is not. This is a group of 8-10 very successful professionals who all enjoy gambling. I am the only AP as far as I know. Stevie can rest safe knowing that he has dissuaded me from winning a few hundred bucks from him. He doesn't need to worry about the tens of thousands that are headed to his competitors (between gambling and other money).

Wynn has always been a nasty individual, heading a company that is unnecessarily hostile to anyone it deems a threat of taking or diverting even a small amount of money from it. He apparently was the driving force behind the abuse of the criminal justice system in the Dalben/Einbinder case back in the 1980's when he owned the LV Golden Nugget. Wynn himself has even been abusive to alleged prostitutes on his property, getting into physical altercations with them at times. His sportsbook manager has disparagingly called patrons with Las Vegas addresses "local assholes." Wynn himself stated a policy of demanding identification from attendees at a Garth Brooks concert, or entry would be refused and ticket money not refunded. It was bizarre.

It appears to me that Wynn runs nice properties, but is not a nice person. That attitude trickles down throughout his company, encouraging managers are often unusually nasty for no good reason.

I know someone who is a break even CC at best who lost 13k on a trip to Wynn. He and his SO also play -EV games and spend significant $ when they go. He got zero offers other than occasional free regular rooms and was rebuffed by a snobby host when he asked what they could do after such a big loss other than about $200 in meals. I told him the room offer might even be a trap to get him back so they can further evaluate his play and possible back him off and put his name in a database. He was astounded that this was even possible until I shared several stories with him. This guy is a partner in a big firm and has encouraged his coworkers to avoid Wynn and stay and play elsewhere when in Vegas.

BTW, Wynn is known for not giving out comps at all. I'll see if I can get the YouTube vid on this.

    "It starts at 18:12"

    Correction:

    Starts at 19:11

    Ends at 20:51

    Nothing of interest.

    Utter waste of time.

Gee, the 60 Minutes piece on him presented him as a fabulous, successful friggan' genius. A real captain of industry.

I've worked on his G650 corporate jet. Rumor is he got angry about something in his cabin not operating properly and he chucked whatever he had in his hand into the forward bulkhead.

    Looks like Wynn is sinking.
Backing off skilled players and doing skills checks sure aren't helping!
