    Travelling

I will be travelling out of the USA but at both ends of the trip, I have 24 hours in the Chicago area. I then travel to three cities in Ukraine (Kyiv, Cherkassy, Lviv and finally to Krakow in Poland. If anyone can recommend a casino in the Chicago area (or hammond, IN) and are familiar with those countries, let me know.

I have been to Poland many times! I love it! Krakow is my "second" home. I lived there for almost four years. I played blackjack in Krakow and other parts of Poland during two different trips. The only game worth looking at is at the old hotel Cracovia which is located within the city center. You could walk there from the main square. The last time I was there was four years ago and the hotel was undergoing renovation and possibly ownership change. So, the name might have changed. At the time even though the hotel was officially closed, the casino was still open. The casinos in Poland you may know are usually little rooms connected to hotels. They are operated by one of three casino companies. I think the one at the Cracovia is an Orbis casino. Anyway, the game is hand shuffled, six deck with about two decks cut off depending on the dealer. There are only a couple of tables and very few players usually. So, you may be heads up or with just another player. If you get a hand of 777 you might get a free bottle of champagne! Early surrender is available on 10s and possibly Ace. It has been a while! There is another game in town which is further away and when last visited, it changed to CSM. Have fun!

    ,

Not a shoe's throw from the airport in Chi', you'll find "Rivers" in DesPlaine, Ill.

The odd thing about this venue is that while their games are quotidian by any measure,

their tolerance is wonderful -- as they depend upon a player's cumulative win to 86' them.

    An A P that I trained, won over $xx
,000 there this year before they politely told him that

    he
was no longer welcome to play, but they permitted him to return the following day and

play some $500 match plays that he had been given! He had actually been informed by two

    "
    pit
critters" that he was approaching the cumulative win "choke point."

Casino mentioned above has been cleaning house with many backoffs in the last several months. Several of these were accompanied with an 86 trespass reading. New players, with thoughts of reported tolerance, have played aggressively and were backed off on the first visit. No casino has unlimited tolerance.

I've flown Malaysian Air a few times. Nearly as good as Singapore Air.

. Unfortunately no. I fly on United from Chicago to Munich and on Lufthansa from Munich to Kiev. Return from Kraków to Chicago via Toronto on Air Canada.
