    Shoe Dealt Double Deck

Got to wondering about my enjoyable shoe dealt DD game. Truth is I've never played pitch. But why should I if this low min shoe game is available.
Then I wondered how widespread shoe dealt, cards up DD might be.
So how 'bout it. Do anyone have access to this scenario?

In Missouri the gaming authorities require that all games be dealt from a shoe. It is more difficult for a dealer to "cheat" when dealing from a shoe.

However, whether the cards are face up or face down is at the discretion of the casino.

I just started looking more at the DD games around me, at least one place deals face up from a shoe.

The Mirage in LV has $25 min and $50 min DD games dealt from shoe. Be careful out there...

Of course if you are alone, it doesn't much matter.

There are 3 places near* me that deal DD face up. One from hand, two from a shoe.

Two of them changed from pitch to shoe within memory.

I worry more about rules like D9/D10 vs DA and DAS than I do about face up or face down.

May the cards fall in your favor.

It's a protective measure for casinos.

Some casinos still pitch, some deal DD from a shoe and allow customers to touch the cards, and some casinos deal DD from a shoe and deal it face up where customers can't touch cards.

Dealing from a shoe prevents dealers from flashing the top/bottom card(s), and flashing when loading the hole card.
Dealing it face up disallows customers from touching the cards, which prevents the possibility of customers marking cards, switching cards with other players, capping/removing chips when tucking their cards under their bet, etc.

Edit: dealing DD from a shoe also prevents cheating dealers using this method: peeking at the top card and only dealing it if the card will hurt you, for example dealing a low card if you're doubling down 9-11, or high card if you need to hit a stiff.

I've even witnessed dealers who "accidentally" dropped the decks from their hand when the running count rose to double digits after a few rounds.

Circus Circus, with some dealers offering up to 90% pen. Tread carefully, my friend from down under was walked off the premises recently.

I concur. Also I have seen dealers who suddenly said "This is a bad shoe. I am giving you a fresh one." Then shuffled even there are two decks or more left.

It happened to me in the shoe game. The same dealer did this again and again. Every time TC became very high. Of course he waited until he made a hand then made the announcement. Some ploppies thanked him but I said the shoe is pretty good, you just won one hand.

Isn't there rules that require dealing to the cut card when a cut card is used. This IS cheating and courts have ruled as much. The dealer could go to jail and the casino fined a HUGE fine PER INCIDENT.

    Good theory; poor application.

Why would he say this? What types of games is he referring to?
