Have the condition on other plays deteriorated ? Are there a lot of idiots burning games out there with absurd moves? Just want some kind of numbers .
I've noticed slightly deteriorated conditions in many of the locations I play. I have seen plops make moves that would certainly burn some of these opportunities or heighten pit awareness. I'm sure there are some AP's that inadvertently burn games, such as I did when I first focused on other plays. However, I've been extremely careful since and haven't experienced any other issues.
I agree with Jabberwocky -- it can be time consuming to find strong games with tolerable pits. Very well said, in my experience.
You don't score, until you SCORE!
Well, there are two types of mentalities usually... I know another site 'preaches' the "burn it down" strategy. This is where you accept you can't do this for life and you'll eventually be nailed by every place you play so why not go in hit hard and fast as you possibly can? I personally subscribe to the latter strategy, which is longevity. I'd rather hit a shop for $50k over decades than $5k this weekend. Some people see their EV/bottom dollar and know they can double it just by jumping their bets to the point where it's obvious and going to draw pit attention.
At the end of the day it's mostly the casinos though. 1% of blackjack players are card counters and probably 1% of that 1% actually have a "winning game." The pit doesn't realize this and are too naive to anyone raising their bet from $25 to $500 to think they're in danger. If they really reviewed the tapes and watched some of these players they would realize they have a losing game. The other thing that sucks is they don't know their BR, which a lot of the original 1% don't understand when getting in to counting. This is something that will also eventually bust them (short BR, playing more than 2x Kelly, etc).
Casino paranoia over counters is really, really sad. They're spending how much money trying to target 1% of the 1% and ruining the game of blackjack in the process so they too will eventually fall. Too many uneducated casino higher ups.
Another issue that i have is when i go out i have bumped into casino dealers/pits on many occasions . That is the reason I protest against stupid moves by the so called "AP" 's. the person playing beside you or stand right next to you could be a casino personnel! I especially had to point out the absurd plays some of these guys with a sizeable bank but not so great skill does. Because of that stores then do radical change even if it cost them a bit of money just to stop this kind of stupid CRAP.
Yours is a polite and erudite way of stating that 99% of casino management consists of brain-dead mental hernias with the IQ of an earthworm. And it is a sad commentary on the casino industry that this level of incompetence is the norm. There are few endeavors in life where one of the prerequisites for getting the job is a lobotomy.

I know that English is not your mother tongue. Think you're zeroing in on the word erudite. Don was being quite complementary on your commentary. He seems to prefer his own subtleties, which you may have noted, when describing casino management.
I think it would be delightful to have Flash and Don engaged in a debate of verbiage over some mundane issue. Many of us would be totally gobsmacked.
Rethinking my original response regarding Don's thoughts on casino management, it's possible you did not understand totally his entire response in context. If that is in fact the case, replace his entire commentary with the phrase "motherfucking idiots", and you will basically arrive at the same result.
The depth of one's fund of knowledge and the scope of one's general
erudition is inversely proportional to the likelihood of an absence of
verbal eloquence.
My thoughts have always included the notion that the casino employees
are ignorant because the casino owners are afraid of intelligent employees
who may be able to steal from them.
Casinos were originally owned and operated by mobsters and outlaws,
who I imagine may have been very suspicious of the educated among us.
Working for a casino DOES, indeed, mean that the prospective
employee may be morally conflicted, to understate the case.
