Indexes in HiLo for NOT splitting Aces

They say to always split Aces and Eights. I play the I-18 and HiLo. In the last couple of sessions I came across a pair of Aces when the TC was -4 in a DD game, dealers up card was a Ten once and a 3 in another.

Given a TC-4 with less than a deck remaining, I might have made a mistake in going ahead and splitting. Oddly enough, I got a 3 and a 4 , the dealer had a 10, had a 6 under, hit and busted so I won. On the other ocassion, I got a 6 and a 7, lost both as dealer with a 3 up card, made a 4 card 19.

where can I find indexes for A,A not splitting?

Do you have Wong's book Pro BJ? It's on p49. However the the indices are so low for 7 - A that you shouldn't be playing at that point. It's TC-4 to TC -9.

Appendix A, p. 267, Wong's Professional Blackjack. -3 vs. ace, -8 vs. 10, and not worth discussing for the other upcards. if the count is that negative, you shouldn't be playing. It would have been wrong for you not to split, in either case.

Finally, what actually happened to you, what cards the dealer got, or you got, or whether you won or lost, doesn't have an iota of importance and can safely be left out of future such questions. You weren't right because you won, and you wouldn't have been any less right if you had lost.

The only time I can think of you wouldn't split A,A is playing ENHC and the dealers got an Ace - then you'd hit.

    I had a minimum ($100) bet
    I caught Ace-Ace.
The dealer flipped up an Ace.
The Hi-Opt II True Count was -8
That was low enough to HIT with RSA
    (I needed just -6)
I hit and had to hit again.
    TWO FACES !
    I was (literally) L.O.L.
(making certain that the floor person saw me fail to split)

Don, it's a DD game and it's the only one in my local casino and when I am playing heads up, I have to play all or leave and go home. Since there is a new shuffle coming up soon, I play all, compensate by playing aggressive at the slightest increase in edge. Also, if I am playing with 2-3 others, if I wong out, someone else takes my place and I go home, so I take strategic breaks if others are around, play all if heads up.

Don't split AA if the TC is really low. Specially for Hi Lo:

    A: -6 or lower.
    7,8,9,T: -10 or lower.
    2-6: -15 or lower.
