    Casinos in Eastern Europe

I am traveling to an Eastern European casino which shall remain nameless. The casino is asking for 5,000 euro front money in order to be comped. Am I taking a risk by depositing the money with them. Obviously the repercussions could be my funds seized, or worse physical harm. But based on my other eastern european play and experience I think I should be okay. Though, I had never been asked to put up any front money.

I was just curious if others here have any experience playing in eastern Europe such as Poland, Latvia, Hungary, (I wouldn't go to Bulgaria), Romania, and Lithuania and how the games were? And if this kind of front money deposit could be risky?

    Gramazeka,

You are in the Ukraine I believe.

Have you played throughout Eastern Europe ?

    What countries ?

In these casinos what are the most

    typical minimum and maximum bets?

Someone told me that 67% penetration is common.

Is that accurate in most cases ?

I don't have experience playing in Europe, but here's what I'd do if I were to play overseas:

Research the casino, nearby casinos, and country you're visiting and see if there have been any incidents or complaints lately.
If it's a legitimate casino, you can prove the funds belong to you, have written documentation of their offer, and if there's some sort of gaming regulation board, then I wouldn't be worried.
Make sure you declare your funds when going to and leaving the country if it's over 10k, and get copies of the document you sign.
Make sure they don't make you play X amount of hours before getting comped or before they let you cash out your deposit or wire it back to you.

Are you traveling to that country specifically for that casino, or do you just happen to be there for work/travel/leisure?
If it's for a specific play, consider just paying for the room, which shouldn't be too costly compared to what you've already spent money on the flight/drive there.

I've already paid for the room, and as you know costs in eastern europe for things are cheap so I'm not too worried about getting comped. But seeing as I was going to play anyway, I thought I might as well take advantage of their comp system. They want 5hrs of play a day, at $25euro minimum which is really nothing and I'm sure I can meet that threshold.

It'd be nice to get some more feedback from you since you live in Eastern Europe. I have been to Poland, and found some really great games.

Have you ever been to Lithuania, or Latvia? Could you elaborate on the conditions in those places?
