Yeah if you play one session of big VP at some of these joints the slot play and tourney invites can really add to your EV. Just find the best game that doesn't have reduced coin in per point and hammer that for an expected loss around what you bet at BJ. The best part is you can just stiff them on the slot aspect afterwards just cashing in the offers and continue playing BJ and it won't look like you were a terrible customer since you still played.

The casinos have caught on. Play big first trip you'll get big offers, if subsequent play doesn't measure up to their expectations you get blacklisted and other standing offers deleted.

While I agree with this concept, executing as described can be a little more complex.

First, let's make sure we understand that playing those VP machines requires a basic strategy that is hard to learn and not always intuitive to the normal poker players. Playing with a wrong basic strategy will not get you the low cost play you were seeking.

Most stores are now watching what happens to the offers and will stop them quickly if they are collected with no additional play. Be sure to understand your stores environment prior to playing. Collecting offers has its own "cat and mouse" game that should be understood before you get caught in the trap.

Keep in mind TR stores have a national marketing budget AND a local marketing budget and it is not clear how it is allocated but they have the most sophisticated tracking system on the planet with over 40 million players. A lot of your mailer offers come from the national budget and certainly all of your discretionary host dollars are local.

Also, some stores segregate slots/VP and table games play and your comp buckets, another reason to do your homework.

If you are trying to beat the comp systems, don't forget cross betting baccarat and craps as a means to enhance your persona. But even these require planning and execution to be successful.

Not trying throw water on the concept, just trying to encourage some research and planning.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!
