    Insurance

According to the ILL18 that I have saved you should take insurance at a TC of +3. When using Norms Blackjack Verite the TC was +2 and it tells me I should have taken insurance, this has happened multiple times. This was 2 deck, first hand of the shoe and the RC was 3 and it says the TC was 2. Why is it telling me I should have taken insurance?

One other question, I know some casinos offer even money on a blackjack. Do you ever take it? What about taking even money and insurance on the same hand?

The INS index for HiLo DD is 2.4, not 3.
Even money is identical to taking INS (think about it), so use the same index number.

I have a hard time thinking, that's why I ask stupid questions so frequently
so it would be wise to take even money and insurance on the same hand? do they even let you do that?

I think the only time you would do that is if the TC is through the roof and the dealer has higher than 50% chance of hitting blackjack? probably never do it? fuck if I know LOL

    Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot ?

" ?wise to take even money and insurance on the same hand?"

"Even Money" is no more than a shortcut way of saying, YES I want insurance,

Without going through the process of placing the chips in front of your bet.

Please refrain from asking questions that suggest that you have sub-normal I.Q.

The subtle difference is that you can usually do it even when you have no chips. Not a big concern normally, but a very important distinction in tournament play where it is common to be all-in.

What if you have a really strong feeling the dealer has a blackjack(TC is at 10). Wouldn't it be wise to take even money and insurance? You would be getting 3:2 if the dealer had blackjack. I don't even know if they let you do that though, I don't think they do.

For those unfamiliar with BJ Tournament Play …

    RE: tournament insurance:

Being All-In is commonplace, especially in the final rounds. e.g.
playing last (or late) when most or all other players have busted
and you can secure cashing / winning without needing the 150%
payoff, and pushing will be counter-productive.

Go back and reread Flash's response to you. Even money and INS are the same thing. you can't do both.

"Feelings" have nothing to do with it. Play by the numbers ONLY.

I know for a fact that I am not alone in suggesting that you

not "let the door smack you in the ass on the way out."

THIS forum is populated by we who embrace the facts

as revealed to us via mathematics. If you have some

primitive need to refer to "feelings" then you might want

To find someplace else to babble; and go buy lottery tickets.

That's why I put (TC 10 in parenthesis). Indicating strong feeling = TC of 10. Meaning I am going by the numbers, I just worded sillily. (sillily is that even a word?). In response to you can't do both sentence, WHAT IF YOU COULD? What if you tried it and the dealer let you? Would it be good or bad idea?
