    electronic blackjack

This is my first post and i want to share my resent experience. Im a little hand tied to do heavy research, and was hoping you fine folks can send me in quicker directions.

    played for 4hours, lost $300
I started with 50, which hovered at +- 10 and then went to zero. Added another 50, which went to 130, and then to straight to zero. I was playing $5 hands.
I was upset and got 300 more and joined the $10 table. This hovered at even for a while +-30 and then slowly went straight to 100.
This is when i forced myself to stand up and leave.

i was using basic strategy. however i admit that i am don't always double down on the 11/10/9s. i do split A/8 only. and i don't double down on the A combos.
After last night i will finish memorizing the strategy before sitting down again.

The shoe was electronic. it tracked what cards left and would display them on an iPad in-front of you.
At one point the shoe malfunctioned and a card was bent stuck on the exit point, the dealer called some tech guys, and they actually opened the shoe up so that we could see inside.
Cards are fed in from the top like a meat grinder.
Inside was a roulette wheel with about 30 slots, each holding approximately 4 cards. This wheel rotated, received cards from the input and placed them into the exit point.
The exit point(where the dealer draws cards) had very few cards.

    These are my question:
Does not double downing decrease my odds against the dealer?
Same for splitting, are my odds reduced?
I believe in random walks and that the player moves from positive to negative through the night, is the random walk i described above possible?
This casino was in spain, could it be possible that since the game was electronic it was manipulated?

    thanks.

You were not using basic strategy. I expect you were using selected parts. Without perfect basic strategy you are at very large disadvantage.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!

Was this in Barcelona? I played there a long time ago. When the cards come out of the CSM, a computer reads it and displays on a player's screen. I'm glad I have never seen this anywhere else.

Shibby, can you do me a favor and check if there are any machines at the higher limit tables. I know they used chips there, but I forgot if they had any machinery there. This was before I cared about such things, so I forgot.

Btw, memorize those double downs and splits. You will do better.
