Moses, it is difficult for some of us to relate to some of your analogies.

I guess you were a referee or umpire at some point in this life or an earlier life. Hey, I am a sports guy, but I don't even think of a referee as a human being. He is that dweeb that made the wrong call and screwed me out of a hundred bucks!

And now you are talking Anaheim Ducks. Who can possibly relate to that other than the good citizens of the foreign country that is Southern California. Hey, you say Anaheim Ducks and I don't hear a word you say after that. All I am thinking about is "I wonder if Emilio Estevez is still their coach?"

I'm aware of this. I realized that after a bit of thinking that it is a bit of my league to provide a meaningful response to the example because of a few details. The main one was that I'm not sure how +4 TC in your ratio counting (if you don't mind me calling it that) compares to hi-lo TC. There are plenty of considerations just in the fact that what you do isn't the conventional linear approach. I still thought it might be worth asking about your spread just in case others wanted to take a jab at it.

I'm very interested in non-conventional counts. I don't doubt their efficacy but their ease of use is something I might test for myself way down the line. In any case, even if I never use anything beyond the standard approach myself I would love to learn about the possibilities. If you are comfortable talking about what you do, I would love a PM hearing about it.

The deck is flush with 10s and Aces or we wouldn't be betting large in the first place. 3 of the 4 9's are gone. One I'm looking at and the other two I'm holding - and WTH. Two things could possibly change my decision to split. One is my first hand. The other is the answer to my question to the dealer if they are going to shuffle up after this hand or play another round. Quite frankly, I'm worried as hell about the hole card being an Ace or a 10 at this point. But if this is it, then I'm splitting my 9's and prepared to write to Don to complain if I lose. lol
If the dealer says we are going another round and my first hand was 20 and the count is still extremely positive then I'm going to stand with likely an overall push for the two hands...and take my chances on getting a blackjack with two more large bets out on the next round.
Near the TC he was at there is a 12% difference in advantage between splitting and not splitting. To make up for that one play mistake you better hope the dealer flashes their hole card next hand.
Maman died today. Or yesterday maybe, I don't know.

Is there a chart anywhere online that one can find that shows what percent you lose by not splitting nine verse with different RC and/or TC listed in order ?

Maybe one day..." Although I do admire your house, I suppose it isn't right for me, not as this time or the foreseeable future. Even if you showed me the keys to a replica of your house, I would enjoy looking around but I guess I wouldn't be able to live in it. I quite like the sound of T3s house. However, I wouldn't be ready, if ever, to move in even if he was willing to hand me the keys.

Perhaps maybe once I can afford it (paid for in the coin of experience rather than the dollar) I might have some builders and architects (Don, Norm and the like) help me build my very own house. Ah, something to day dream about!

On another note, the OP on these pages now has 4 pages. I tried the same posting on another forum and just got ripped for it. The folks on that forum seem to think they are superior beings, the forum is like a graduate class and anyone who posts, admitting concerns like I did (splitting 9's and having doubts) or admitting that maybe I should not have doubled for less and they get to cyber bullying to get rid of the intruder into their graduate class. Anyone who posts without first having learned all the indices, read all the archives on its site, read a dozen books, purchased software and such is asking for abuse.

I think so moses, as well as the signature of someone on here that says "The more I practice, the luckier I get." or something near that.

Bjarg is for real. He knows how to exploit so many casino weaknesses in many different games. +I think he was having fun with me but if he didn't understand what I was talking about I don't think any less of him. When it comes to knowing things his knowledge about beating the casino is far more extensive than mine. I have just become really good at a specialized little area of opportunity. He knows so many ways to get a big advantage in a casino. He might have pushed the limits of my patience but I still like and respect him for who he is and what he can do. He at least had the courtesy to say he was just messing with me and that meant a lot. Others had me feeling like a gang jumped me with clubs. I try not to notice who said what because there is no gain to holding a grudge. Unfortunately those that have images with their name I will not be able to forget the image. I just hope I can let the association go as easily with them. There is no profit in grudges and personal wars. I always like to make the AP move when I can in life.

I'll preface this by saying that I refrain from going off topic as much as possible, but I really wanted a chance to shoot this quick rant at somebody (even at an empty theater).

I haven't even caught up. I was having a hard time keeping up with the regular posting then I come back one day and there's 7 pages. Ok, I'll read that the next time I'm on the site. Next time it has 14. I'm glad it's finally locked, or else I would never be able to finish it. There's some good tid bits about random things (Aslan's post about the gambling times article). I'm on page 8, how's the conversation after that? I'm trying to decide whether it's worth finishing. PM me (also extended to anyone who has comments about the thread or wants to chat about it).

It turns into an attack thread at some point. I have posted many things that are true but defy the mantra mindlessly spoken by card counters. I at least reached someone on the I18 and Fab4 discussion and how the gain from more indices depends on your situation. He did the research and discovered without increasing RoR in his situation the gain from more indices is 42%. I guess the same that only know what applies to them or whatever mantra they were taught and never questioned either couldn't understand or didn't want to believe some of the other things I talked about. hat group started to attack me. Some in fun and I must admit I was laughing as I read most of them just from true experts and self proclaimed experts showed their ignorance. I have been studying what I was talking about for a very long time. It is not intuitive to the type of thinking that the mainstream BJ community knows. But at the same time it was getting me more and more frustrated. I thought I explained things so people should get it but like Tarzan discussions of so long ago some don't understand where gains come from and why there are certain limits to the linear approach. I question everything I am taught. After doing my own research to confirm or debunk it I have a much better understanding of whatever subject was being considered.

Most of my professors in College loved it but some didn't appreciate it. There were some great advanced discussions on topics being taught and most professors would be grinning ear to ear to see the topic he was tasked to teach being so thoroughly and thought provokingly covered when I was in the class. So if I believe a little differently than the standard view it isn't out of ignorance. Don's concept of SCORE putting all gain to EV while keeping everything else the same to compare games translates to comparing the gain for other things in BJ. I guess some here are like those few professors that didn't appreciate more in depth discussions that can call into question the long held beliefs in their field. These professors just wanted to put in their time and pick up their paychecks without discussion that often showed were the field would be or was headed in the future. Anyway not to go to far on a tangent there is some good stuff in the last 7 pages but most for whatever reason just started attacking me. I said something that was not taken the way I intended it so I can understand the reaction to a degree. It was a comment meant to point out how innovators are often ostracized by the mainstream. It was taken as me bragging or putting others down. You know the glass half full types probably took it as intended and the ones that take everything as an insult took it the wrong way. The point is in some kind of group effort things just went downhill. You may find it humorous to read or you may find it a waste of time but there is some good stuff scattered in there.

I must have a reading comprehension problem because I could not find the extreme personal attacks in the last 2 posts that caused the thread to be closed. The last 2 posts were by Aslan and Tthree. Is it just me? I don't see anything personal in those posts. Even Bodarc's last post in the thread, while sarcastic, I would not call an attack.

    That's because they were deleted.
