    Australia Query

    Hi Guys,
First signed on and new thread today. I can't see a lot of posts about CC in Australia and I am hoping to get a refresh on this in the forum. Apologies for international friends here that might not be that interested.

I personally have been practicing (at home) for about 3 years now, more intensely when my local casino had low stakes shoe games, but that has since that has dried up and I am needing more info on how to approach the VIP gaming rooms which still have these shoe game. Also, hoping to get in contact with any locals =)

I can see Koz84 is constant on this forum and I hope to hit you up about this privately, but any other Aussie players out there?

What kind of games were offered 3 years ago compared to now? What do you mean by vip, like high limit room, or just higher minimums. Are the staff more watchful at these limits? Any place in your country that you can travel to? I can travel between 2-5 hours for a game. I am considering going for 7 hours to explore more of what's out there

Never been to australia but I understand that the rules and conditions are unenviable at best. That means australia is unattractive to the serious AP community.

Standard blackjack and they have those other silly versions as well. I was meaning that they removed all the shoe games from the main floor and the only shoe games are in the high roller rooms (VIP rooms) where, as a local, it's harder to access unless I am actually throwing my money away. From $50 minimums
I could access these rooms through my high rolling friends (mainly interstate now) but it's a bit of a hassle and I don't really want them to know as they are a bit loud mouthed.

The last time I played along my high roller friends in Queensland (Gold Coast/Brisbane) it was:
6 decks, D9-11, split once (one card on split aces), OBBO, double after split, no surrender
Penetration was between 0.5-1.5 decks, dependant on dealer
Sorry, I'm not familiar with BJ terms yet and hopefully that's everything. It's been a while since I have gone to my local casino, or even any, since I know there's no shoe games on the main floor in Australia. Had a great time in London though when I was on holidays.

Gold Coast and Brisbane would be the two casino's I would recommend as they are 6 decks and have good penetration dependant on the dealer. Gold coast because there are beaches nearby. I have been told by my dealer friends that they are usually trained to not bother with card counters as they aren't worth it, but I would assume security would. <-- info in relation to Melbourne and Gold coast.

I recall reading Aussie's report what kind of rules were common to someone moving to Australia in another thread. So I can confirm that there's probably at least two or three other Aussies around.
