also , not sure why you don't resize your big bet down, if the variance is bothering you ...
keeping up with these posts , you often times mention things that would make someone think this streak was bothering you ...
You're too caught up in short term results which is probably common for new players (it definitely was for me). What helped me was setting aside a sum of money and refusing to count it for a few months while I played. That way I had no idea how much I was winning/losing (besides the rough estimate in my head after cashing out / buying in) in any given session. After a few months, I was always ahead and happy about it
It bears repeating that except for the gains attributable to index plays, the card counter's edge depends on successful splits, double downs and naturals in plus counts when we are betting max bet. Nothing else. The index plays alone will not give the card counter an edge.
One of the reasons we have to bet so much in plus counts to overcome the house edge is that plus counts are not always successful. First, the dealer will always win more hands on average than we do whether in a negative count or a plus count. Second, the dealer has just as much chance of getting good cards in plus counts as any spot on the table, so we are often faced with dealer twenties and naturals. Third, and its a twofold crusher, we may not have any splits, double downs, or naturals in plus counts, or worse yet, we may have them and they are unsuccessful, doubling what we would otherwise lose in the first two cases and leaving us empty handed with the other due to hidden-ace blackjacks by dealers.
Gambling with an edge is still gambling!

Exactly. Whenever a large plus-count occurs, it always seems to result in unsuccessful splits and doubles for me, causing the loss to be all the more devastating.
Just give me one good run of plus-count where the dealer actually busts a couple of times. It feels like this is never going to happen again.

Your max bet is $200 ,That is your real bet . Expect to lose 20 of them each and every time you walk into a casino .I think there is roughly 5% chance of losing in 400 rounds of play . If you lost 80-100 max bets in 20000 rounds of play then start complaining about the lost. 200 x $200 is $40k ,be ready to lose it if you want to Count card .the math is on your side but you can still lose all of it!
Read, read, read and search, search, search for ways to get more than 1% advantage and then practice, practice, practice until your fingers bleed and your brain shuts down on you.
