Would you bring up that you count cards in a job interview?

I have a couple of interviews this week and was considering bringing it up if they ask what else I do. I find that people get really impressed when you tell them about it.

What say you?

I wouldn't.

I see two negatives. Most of the general public doesn't understand the difference between playing +EV and -EV. They will just associate you with gambling, which many hold in a negative light.

For decades now, the casino industry has painted card counters as cheaters. We fight back every chance we get, but they have a bigger platform and louder bullhorn and they have had some success in getting their message out to the general public.

I think I'll try it out at the end of one of the interviews and see how it goes.

I think you're getting too deep when you talk about +-EV.

I don't think it's a good idea because like KJ said, majority of the general population doesn't understand gambling and may assume that you have a problem. Of course some people may understand that you're playing with an advantage but unless you really know your interviewer, it's not likely to go over well.

Then there are a good chunk of people who still think card counting is illegal.

I was going to relate this to the focus on the job. That I can and will see things through.

I live outside the bible belt I wouldn't bring it up for +2 reasons. 1 interviewer thinks B.S. then what are you doing here instead of counting. 2 interviewer is a bible thumper and is turned off by the possibility of you being a problem gambler. For what its worth just my opinion I don't think that's how you put your best foot forward.
