Basic Strategy for Double Down on any two cards

I play at a casino(Casino Pride, Goa, India) where doubling down on any two cards is permitted.

All of the basic strategy charts that I have seen so far asks us to double down only if you have 9,10,11

When I am allowed to double down on any two cards.

Shouldn't I double down on an 8 against a dealer 5,6 ??? If so what are other missing cases where I should double down when I am allowed to

Doubling on 8 v 5/6 isn't basic strategy but are index plays (you would do them if you're counting and the count reaches a certain positive level). However your basic strategy chart should include all of the soft doubles i.e. doubling when you have an ace and a numbered card. Usually the entry in the chart will have two letters like Dh or Ds instead of just "D" because you can have the same soft total with three or more cards so it gives you an alternative if doubling isn't allowed. With the game I play there are 19 of these doubles. Type "wizard of odds blackjack basic strategy calculator" into Google and you should get what you need there.

Sorry, I realize my response was incomplete. 8 v. 5/6 can be indicated by basic strategy depending on the # of decks involved, but the WOO calculator will tell you the proper strategy for your game. I don't play single deck.
