    open carry

    Well, hide the kids, the Texas Legislature is in session.
    These bozo's are poised to pass open carry legislation, yet I can't get a bill placing on the ballot an amendment to the Texas Constitution permitting resort style casino gambling...ARGH!!
    Last session, John Corona introduced a bill to do that and it went nowhere. Then a supposed tea party candidate (and land developer) defeated him...go figure.

    I'm a native Texan and the place is getting whackier by the day.

    I thought they already had that law in Texas. In my state you need enough signatures to get an amendment on the ballot. I am not sure what it takes in Texas.

    We have had open carry for a year or so. You never see anyone actually carrying though. It's not the law abiding people in possession you need to worry about, it is the ones with felony convictions that are not allowed to own a gun that will shoot you.
