That's definitely the case heads up but when there are multiple people at the table it isn't very common that the dealer doesn't have to draw on his hand. Everyone at the table would either surrender, bust, or have a blackjack during a given round for that to occur. However, you only need the possibility of that (heads up or with others) to have a reason to prefer no hole card.

I think I would personally prefer for the dealer to have a hole card, just so hole carding would be possible.

Conversely, when you are heads up, it is fairly common that you will surrender, bust or get a blackjack. And who plays blackjack with other people at the table? I don't need their negative energy or their contemptuous remarks about my play. I certainly don't need them slowing down my game, going for 400 rounds an hour to 50. But I can't help but concede the point about hole carding. Also I think that a no hole card game might benefit a cheating dealer.

Unfortunately for me, I usually have no choice but to play with at least two other players, sometimes more. I'm glad my casino moved a few of its blackjack tables to the other side of the casino. Though it can be just as busy as the other pits, it's quite fickle and can go from full to nobody in 30 minutes. So I've actually been able to get in a couple hours of heads up play.

The thought about cheating dealers didn't cross my mind. I usually forget about that aspect of the game, but it's a good point to bring up. I don't know much about cheating, but it doesn't sound too difficult to steer the right cards to the dealers hand and the wrong cards away, especially in a handheld game.
