That's the first time that I've heard of that saying. That's a good one.

The ploppies look at it as a dealer's ace because they do not hit their stiff and the dealer makes a hand often with the ploppy losing. The ploppies and ignorant dealers can called it whatever they want , i just play along with them . I do not think to win at counting bj with only the technical side. The human side is also very important. I constantly check on my store and their staff with how they feel about me. They know what is up but i am not a threat .I am just a nuisance for them sometimes ,so i plan an exit at times.

    Wazzy2,

If you cannot "double on an ace hand", or as we say, "no soft doubles", then the B.S. is to HIT on A-2, A-3, A-4, A-5, and A-6 vs. any upcard, and STAND on A-8 and A-9 vs. any upcard. For A-7, you STAND if the dealer's upcard is 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8, and HIT on A-7 if the dealer's upcard is 9, any 10-value card, or A.

    Hope this helps!

Only if it is OBO no hole card. If you lose both bets to a dealer BJ you shouldn't split against a T or A.

Almost. But I do not like to play at a full table, so I am conscious of how many others are at the table. The other point is, some ploppies are just so distracting that I do not enjoy playing their table. They can be obnoxious, constantly hitting on the dealer, disgustingly drunk, smoking gross cigars (I like a good cigar), or exhibit other traits that I'd rather not be in the company of, especially hostile or angry behavior. Other than that, "What other players?"

    Wazzy2,

    Standing on 7-7 vs. X is B.S. only for a single-deck game: if you're playing a multi-deck game, then HIT on 7-7 vs. X.

One of our occasional posters here, Eric Farmer, has graciously made available his strategy engine for BJ. Go to https://sites.google.com/site/erfarmer/downloads and get his excellent Blackjack 7. With that, you can generate the proper B.S. for almost any BJ game.

    Hope this helps!

No kidding. I was playing the other night and the players at the table behind me were yelling constantly. It was so bad that I could not hear when the dealer spoke to me.

The worst ploppies of all though are the slooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww players!

Ploppy [Thought processes]: "What should I do? The dealer has a 5 up and all I have is a 13, so the dealer has me beat if he has a 10 hole card, so should I hit? Maybe, I should double down, because I don't see any 7s or 8s. What do I do? I'd ask the guy next to me but he seems irritated with me. I'll hit it." [Beginning to scratch for a card]

marriedputter [Putting his hand out to stop the ploppy]: "Don't hit that! Stay! Let the dealer bust!"

Awhile back, I was playing with my brother (who also counts) and he and another gentlemen both has 12's against a dealer 3. The gentleman stayed, and since the count warranted it, my brother stayed as well. The rest of the hand didn't turn out well. The gentleman was upset because, in his own words "if I knew you were going to stay I would have took a card. Someone had to take a card".
