Fast Dealer Who Anticipated My Move

I was playing at a casino last trip and I got a dealer that would anticipate me tucking my cards playing 2 deck pitch head on. I like playing fast and don't mind a fast dealer. Because she did it so fast I could have actually seen her cards if I had decided not to tuck. I wasn't really sure how to take advantage of this. Maybe if there was a close call like a stiff hand against a 10 up I could have seen her cards a couple of times and if she had a bust card I could have just tucked instead of hitting my stiff. I'm sure it wouldn't have worked more than a couple of times before she slowed down, but it might have made a difference.

If your cards are dealt face down how would the dealer know your action? I am not sure you expressed what is going on here well enough for me to understand but from what I do understand slowing the game will cost you over every hand played after that. The gain from 1 or 2 errors need to be enough to offset the loss of from slower game speed.

OK, I'll try to explain better.

If I picked up the cards and scratched them I got another card of course. If I made a motion like I was going to tuck, she would beat me to it by flipping over her hole card. It was almost like she was racing me. I could have changed my mind and not tucked.

If you want to shoot an angle, you could fake a tuck with a huge bet. Don't expect to get away with it more than once.

I think the EV is actually higher with a total like soft 18, rather than with a stiff, because you could hit, stand, or double. I could be wrong, though.

That would seem like a way to be able to get a free look at the dealers hole card by having her expose it for you. Just fake her out with a jedi mind trick and act like your going to tuck your hand if she is anticipating your move to tuck. Then after seeing her hole card and if it seems favorable for the player you could continue the tuck but if it isn't then you could call the floor over to complain about their dealer... how you were thinking about taking the next card but she acted to fast before I could make my decision. You could do this on a table with other players as long as your last to act in late position.

All true, but the places having strong game protection have pretty limited tolerance for angle shooters. In this circumstance, I think I'd use it to advantage at one opportune time, though, and that one time will probably burn that AP down, anyway.
