Pretending to not understand English (for visible minorities and migrants)

I was wondering whether anyone here has tried to pretend they were a foreign tourist who spoke only limited English. I reckon I could get away with it, as I am a native level speaker in both my mother tongue and English and could easily make up a story about living and working in my country of birth.

As gambling is banned in my country of birth I could attempt to pretend that I didn't know anything about the game and lie that I was a small/medium businessperson.

The only pretending I've really done was on Haloween bad that was simply just acting boozed. Other then that I don't have much experience with it.

However, I have met a ton of foreign dealers that choose not to say a word the entire time they deal and I don't mind that a bit . Less awkward actually. When the floor comes around ill pretend to spark a conversation but when they walk away we both give each other the back to business look

    Best of Luck,
    Tom

when you pretend you do not know the game and follow it up with correct Basic Strategy while playing, then they know you are lying and it just is asking them to look at your play more closely to see if you are a counter.

There's this guy that plays in my area, he's a pretty "rookie level" counter, but he goes wayyyyyyyyyyyy over the top with outfits and disguise and whatnot. He's half white, half native american, but his skin tone, hair, and facial features are built in such a way that he could (and has) pulled off Middle Eastern, Spanish, Mexican, "Mediterranean", and South African. In fact, he's perfected the Johannesburg accent. I kid you not, one day he came into the casino wearing a Dashiki and Kufi. Which was all well and good until one day an African employee of the casino corrected him that he should be wearing a Madiba instead of the Dashiki. It was hilaaaaaaaaaarious to watch this transpire.

I used this disguise once and spoke Pig Latin. It worked very well.
