    USA Trip

Hi all, Koz84 here from Down Under!

I'm planning a two week trip to the States around late March. I plan on going to New York, Boston, Chicago, Albuquerque, Las Vegas (of course!), Area 51, and LA. Any tips from people on the games I could attempt to play in the cities I mentioned apart from Vegas? Of course, given this is a sightseeing trip, I won't dedicate too much time to BJ until I'm in Vegas, however, if you think there are decent games I'd be prepared to visit the casino for a short while.

This trip is also going to be one that involves finding the best eats, and I've already watched Man v Food, so have gauged an idea of some top places. If you have any other eating advice, please let me know!

Koz, our Aussie friend! Thats a very ambitious 2 weeks! There's a lot of travel coordinating in flying to all those destinations. Most people probably couldn't do LA, Vegas, and NYC in that time frame. Just too much to see and eat! Can't see how you would get any BJ done outside of Vegas.

    Curious, why Albuquerque?

You're too early for Boston, The Wynn in Everett is just getting started. Heading to New York you have Twin River in Lincoln RI, a dump with no parking garage or hotel. Continuing south will bring you to the Connecticut casinos. All blackjack is shoe only, a mixture of beatable games that have good rules including surrender. Penetration ranges from good to poor with the best at Foxwoods then Twin River and finally Mohegan Sun. It's dealer dependent at the latter so look around.

Welcome to the USA Koz. Let everyone know your min. table and you get some good info for Vegas and maybe other stores.
Best wishes for an exciting fun trip.

Albuquerque is very beautiful, though crowded city , with giant mountains , at the base, is a large I'm guessing native owned , casino called Sandia , named after the mountains, a few minutes north is another called Hollywood , and still ....traveling only an hour north ,just past Sante fe , is a string of native owned casinos all along the same stretch of freeway ... lots and lots of places around Albuquerque. granted they are 100 percent native . there are others in about every direction. good luck
,,, keep in mind , that just about every time you exit your vehicle in Albuquerque , there is a man or women that will ask you for spare change , or have a long story about a situation they are in and why you need to help them with a few dollars ... its an epidemic there ...

in Albuquerque , eat a sandwich called " turkey and swiss " from a place called Dion's , ( might want to not have onions , up to you )make sure to stop at a restaurant that has " breakfast burritos" , when they ask " red or green? " they are asking you what kind of chilli , red chili or green chili , and not chili in a bowl , but chili salsa that goes on the burrito , yum ! a few sections of Albuquerque , is somewhat dangerous , stay Away from "central avenue " as much as you can , since you are from out of town

Very true, Albuquerque is a beautiful and interesting city, really like it, so much that I tried to make a move to there about 10 years ago but it didn't work out. Its not a typical destination city though, even for blackjack, compared to say Reno/Tahoe or Mississippi Gulf Coast.

more food koz - a decent restaurant for Italian in Albuquerque is called " macaroni grill" its near Louisiana avenue . close to winrock mall , another place is
flying star - its expensive but the Cajun chicken sandwich is beyond good , the sauce is incredible and I spent extra money on that sandwich because its so awesome ! they don't seem to know how to run a busy internet connection though ,
locals like two places that aren't as fancy , java joes -( a little south of central ave ) has top notch-breakfast burritos (ask for bacon inside) and its a trendy coffee and tea shop with internet ... and the frontier restaurant - buts its on central , that area of central isn't overly crazy , just college and shops in walking distance , but east and west of there can get dicey...
le peep - (in uptown - close to macaroni grill ) is only a breakfast place , huevos rancheros plates are huge .
in that same area is the elephant bar - (good food there is -citrus salad , or lettuce wraps ) and there are other upscale places in that area , its kinda like a walking plaza -strip connected bars shops and restaurants, very cool ,

That is a pretty adventuous trip right there, I had assumed you'd be flying, but since you mentioned this was also an "eats" trip, I figured it safe to ask if you are going to be driving during any portion of this large journey? If you're driving, I could name you about 6 casinos to stay at/play/eat on the trip from Chitown to ABQ.

Make sure you at least eat at Cemita's Pueblo in Chicago on North Ave while you are there.

Sycuan in Southern Cali has one of the best buffets I've been to

Thanks for the help, guys! As for why I'm going to Albuquerque, I'm a fan of Breaking Bad and would like to see some of the shooting locations, Walt's house, the car wash etc. Someone asked about what my table would be in order to help figure out the games I could play in Vegas, I'd say I'd be willing to play $25 min. Being Australian, I've only ever played 6-8 deck shoe games with no surrender, so I'd probably have to adjust BS for DD play, with surrender, should anyone direct me to such games. Any tips of great Vegas games would be appreciated. I also want to try get booted from the Spaniard in less than 10 minutes, as a joke.

If you're legitimately not concerned with getting your face plastered all over the US casinos, spreading 1-4 or 1-5 at the sweaty spaniard should get you booted pretty quickly haha.
