If they are out to get you then it isn't paranoia. You are only being paranoid when they aren't out to get you and you think they are. You know as a given that the casino is out to get you if you are an AP. The casino employee most likely isn't out to get you though. You just have to play so they are comfortable looking the other way. When looking the other way will get them fired the casino employee will be out to get you because he has no choice. When you realize that and figure out what each casinos employees are comfortable looking the other way from you will have no problem.

But there certainly IS a takeaway for not keeping records, especially ones with "enough" details.

As for paranoia, I personally think if you, me, or anyone playing this game is even the least bit paranoid, then they should stop playing immediately. In order to be "good", truly "good" at this game in this day and age the way things are, you absolutely have to be confident about your game, and that game starts with preparation, and that preparation starts with scouting and detailed information gathering, something you can check back on those well documented notes you should have been taking all this time :P

As for me and my goals.

By the end of this 1/4, my goal is to have logged 850 hours, that's it. I don't have a $goal in mind as I know what I "should" make in the long run, I don't feel that I need to make many adjustments to my game at all, aside from maintaining appearances for covers' sake, I just need to put in the time.

So far in 2015 there have been 98 hours to the year (my time), I've played for 51 of them :P

    Good cards to us all!
    Good Luck !!!!

Thanks, I'm going to need it! I like to be ambitious though, and I'm still pretty young so now is the time to get in the hours while I can. I'm already off to a fantastic start in 2015, I've logged about 63 hours in the first 125 hours of the new year, and I'm up drastically on both ends of my AP play. Took me about 50 hours into the new year to get a hand pay on slots

That's awesome . Continue to grind . I had my first losing session of 2014 lastnight . Not a huge loss, enough to note though .

2015** sorry Sir Muff .. Yeah shooting a wicked 75% w/l ratio for the quarter.. Although it does nothing for my long run ( as previously mentioned ). 3/4 isn't bad, still early I'm sure I'll have a couple dozen more . I'll keep you posted .

I know exactly how those days go, trust me. While I'm still "new" I probably logged more hours last year than most guys have done in quite a few years and boy was the variance WILD at the start. I think in my first 2 months of serious "counting", I had 3 or 4 days where I'd take home just short of 5 figures, just to take almost an entire week of 4 figure losses. Once I figured things out a little bit more with my index plays and made some minor adjustments to my game, things started to level out, I dropped my spread down significantly to mitigate huge variance swings both in the positive and negative directions, and started playing a more modest game.

It wasn't long ago that I'd shit my pants over taking a 4-500 loss, now I just call those Mondays and Tuesdays hehe.

23 days a month, 12 hours per day, 3 months, puts me just under my goal, and that's the more "realistic" goal I'm shooting for, but I figure like any business, I'd like to push for a higher return the next year and so forth, right now, that just means a few more hours. Might need to take an "off" day out of that mix to get to the 850 mark, but it really isn't hurting me any.

Since I was 16 or 17 I've been working 40+week year after year, in the last 7 or 8 years I don't think I've had a week under about 56 hours/wk at a normal job. Hell, my last two jobs were 82/wk and 73/wk, I'm used to long hours, blackjack just has a little bit more "fun" attached to it for me. Less pissy customers, more hilarious drunk people. A solid tradeoff if you ask me haha.
