    Worst Las Vegas Hotels, Casinos

Thought it would be good to have a public thread with this title. I was thinking we should rate hotels with bad rules at major travel sites. But, they have so many reviews; there wouldn’t be any impact.

Feel free to list burn joints in this thread, in Las Vegas or elsewhere.

Good idea......the Linq is a real piece of crap they advertise handheld games and only have CSM and virtual blackjack open even on weekends. I wish CVBJ posted a secondary issue of what your actually going to see in casinos. I would pay top dollar for that issue. Aria is another sweaty piece of crap they only have $50 tables and up and then CSM's. Also, be prepared for a sweat fest after a winning session seems like they have a sweaty pit boss check box in there applications.

Last time I was in Vegas I stayed at the Palms. Walked across the street (at the light - several well-known APs have gotten jaywalking tickets near there) to the Gold Coast. Looked around at the games. Walked back across the street to get my car and drive somewhere playable.

South Point... while waiting for someone who was there for a convention, I sat down at a $5 dollar DD table. Got backed off when I 'jumped' my bet from $5 to $20 after winning a double down. The pit boss' face was so red with anger that I thought that he might have a stroke.

The hotel itself is decent though.

It would help a great deal if you knew how to wager in DD.

Glad it's not just me. I was also playing at the $5 table, and hadn't placed a bet above $15, and was up a grand total of about $80 when I got backed off. When I was up about $50 I saw the PB start staring in my direction, but I didn't even consider it would be to back me off. My bad.

From a friend of mine not on the forum:
Played at the Sweaty Spaniard (El Cortez). Jumped his bet at SD from $5 to $10 and got the boot.

Seriously?? Why they don't just put a flat-bet only sign on the table for everyone.

    Burn Joints
    1. NYNY (almost every game is now 6/5
    2. Venetian/Palazzo (unless you can afford $100+ min tables)
    3. Binions (horrible games, living off the name, such a shame)
    4. Monte Carlo
    5. Excalibur

For the most part the best values for the non-counting gambler are at the locals casinos.

2 and 4 are the few casinos in the Strip with good BJ games. On the second thought, 1 is just OK.

My first EVER post to any forum!!!

A credit to this forum and Norm...

Just came back from Thanksgiving and New Year's 2015 from Vegas. I went into and played, or at least surveyed every casino on Freemont, and 80% of the strip. Here's the "COMPLETE" blackjack casino rundown:

    Freemont:

    - all casinos are H16
    - tons of red chip tables, and tons of 6/5
    - many of Freemont casinos will sweat your red chip play! Golden Nugget probably the least sweaty of the bunch...
    - the one playable casino was a casino on the opposite side from Nugget. It had an open table area as soon as you walk through the open/doorless entrance. It was all party pit layout. I believe the hotel portion is closed. Hand dealt DD, $10 min, deep penetration, pit and dealers were rookies and oblivious.
    - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AT El Cortez!!! Sweatiest place I've ever played - 1 hour of play. Runner up is California Casino, almost as bad.

Read the next Strip section and you'll never need to visit Freemont to find good bj games.

STRIP CASINOS: (did not survey Wynn, Encore, Monte Carlo, Hard Rock)

    - lots of ASM, 6/5!
    - no good games at Palazzo, Venetian, Planet Hollywood, Ceasar's, Harrah's, etc.
    - Hooter's has a SD, $5, 3:2, but pit was hawking the table!
    - The only offered DD, H16, $25 games are at New York-New York (multiple hands allowed, no double min. bet required), Excalibur (same as NY-NY if u request pit, sometimes)
    * Treasure Island has same game for $10!
    - Tropicana has DD, H16, $25 game. 2 hands require double the min.
    - MGM, NY-NY, Aria, Bellagio has best and only DD, S16, $100 min.
** MGM has a DD, S16, $50 table "hidden" in the round bar in the middle of the casino. Pit looked like they weren't vigilant because 5-6 other kinds of table games.

This review does not include outlying casinos outside of Freemont area or The Strip.

    GOOD LUCK!
