    Tips from ex Biloxi surveillance

Thought I'd give something back today.....I was fortunate to be introduced ex surveillance employee from Biloxi over some beers. To clarify from the start he doesn't mine me posting as long as I don't reveal his name. He started by telling me that the turn over rate in Biloxi is second to Las Vegas for w/e that's worth.

I was blown away by how sweaty Biloxi could be. According to him the threshold is a bet of 200 or even 2x150. Also, to my surprise the evaluation could be made before you finished your second shoe unless betting cover or a really conservative spread was employed below 1-10. Meaning you will be flat-betted for winning with a bet spread without counting unless you where noted as a losing player. As soon as you are tagged counter, your picture is sent to all neighboring casinos in the coast including locals. Camaraderie seems to be high in the coast. He claimed that you will be barred before playing in some of the sweatier stores. Risking being black booked or even being tagged as a cheater of some sort, if you are persistent.

I asked him for some tips they where nothing out of the ordinary but helpful none the less. He advised back counting specifically or strategy that concealed a spread. More importantly was to keep wins under a thousand especially in weekdays there's a low percentages of winners cashing out on weekdays for a $1000 in an hour and would be backed off on next visit when tape was reviewed and decision was made declaring you a counter.

He made it a point that one should avoid Biloxi all together unless it was a short two day stay. Unless you where from Mobile or New Orleans or over 50+ you will be scrutinized even without reaching a Betting threshold.

To my disbelief tho he assured me and re-assured me that persistent counters that played after a barring in town at another property where sometimes tagged as cappers or cheaters!!! I brought up the James Grosjean case and how griffin went bankrupt for those kind of accusations. He again reassured me that some stores have loose practices and rightly assume that most counters won't be arrested for being tagged cheaters just simply barred. Also claimed in the rare situation that a counter was tagged cheater where to be arrested there was a slim chance the counter would take legal recourse.

It got me thinking what would the steps we would have to take if this where to happen to one of us. He told me there was a fat chance a counter would find out he was in a black book. Does anyone here know of a away to get out of a thorny situation as being black booked or worse declared a cheater in a black book.

I was in Biloxi couple of weeks ago and noticed no heat, however, I was only betting 1 x $10 to 2 X $ 75. I bet 2 X $ 100 once and had "chips play" called on me but no one really paid any attention. I took a break shortly thereafter. I guess I was below their radar.

Ezup ud be hard pressed to find out what region I'm in. I'm a touring musician with an obsession with taking money from casinos that rarely hits the same casino twice in a 2 month span.

Just like we try to get the scoop on how they operate, do you think they try to get the scoop on how professional BJ players operate by visiting forums such as this one?

i totally believe that is how a lot of casino operates . You can lose as much as you want but as soon as you win ,they take you a close look at you . So these folks just think people come in and blow a bunch of money is an idea of a good time WTF! They spread this idea around to their employees . they think their customers are idiots ,? Even the ploppies are not idiots ! A lot of them are successful in their own area, especially the hi limit players. They are just uninformed /ignorant on how the game works or simply overlook the small edge that casino have .
I have ploppies that caught on very fast of how i play , i dont mean just counting. I would NEVER UNDERESTIMATE my opponents.

Another big factor would be the L'Auberge in Baton Rouge opened in 2012 and now the new Golden Nugget in Lake Charles that opened about 2 weeks ago which you can forget about being comped properly in. There where reluctant to give buffets to players at 50 dollar tables. Also there not linked to the other nuggets and don't do casino rates anymore from the pit. Also, maybe just because of opening week but there was more people there on opening weekend then in MGM grand on New Years. Also, if anyone wants to know there is something really funny about the place PM me, I don't wanna spoil it for everybody.

ud be surprised how well being a musician correlates to counting cards, I know I sure was. giving music lessons pays $50 dollars an hour and still allows you to take a vacation and cancel. On the road you can do 3-4 hours before a show and 2 hours after it in any small dingy casino. Also, math and music use the same part of the brain and its a kind of a spiritual healing you need from the superficial casino world. I'm sure if other musicians where to find out this alternative to supplemental income they would stop complaining about the music performance degrees. James Grosjean's partner who'm he calls the fastest counter in the world is a folk musician from New York City.
